I'm surprised Thierry Mugler wasn't mentioned? Not only did he revolutionise contemporary couture by introducing the idea of bespoke to a younger clientele, but his collections had numerous iterations of "the little black dress", especially in an era when black wasn't used heavily in Haute Couture.

It's tragic that only people like us, that is, those "interested in fashion", engage with such content while the rest of the crowd goes around calling us frivolous and vain. Little do they realise the history, poetry, art, craft, creativity, imagination, etc. that goes into "fashion". Then, they also conveniently forget how the fashion industry is not exclusive and heavily influences all our lives every day.

Would've liked to hear a Henry James reference since he was the one who coined the term in the first place! Coco Chanel sure popularised it but he invented the concept :) (The first time the phrase was used was in 1902 in James' The Wings of the Dove fyi)
