Ugh....that immediately occurred to me when I saw that picture. I think there is definitely a line to be crossed when dressing up like other cultures, but people are also generally too sensitive about it. Gwen admired Indian culture and was gifted accessories by an Indian woman, so what's the harm in wearing them? It would have been rude for her not to. I remember buying this gorgeous hand-made choker at a festival years ago, made this lovely Native American artisan. I wore it to school (early 2000's) and people made fun of me for being a white girl and wearing this necklace! So yeah......it's been happening for a while.
