@@pakshunlee1472 Psychologists are NOT psychiaters (= NOT a doctor), so you'd better be careful when taking advice from them on clinical issues. As a main side effect, antidepressives indeed increase to some extent the trend of suicide in the start fase, but a real psychiater will tell you how to take the drug in order to maximalize its effect and avoid being addictive to it, if he or she thinks that you really need it. Just like many other drugs that might also be addictive but have desired effects (narcotic analgetics, hypnotics...), it's better to listen to your doctor how to use it, rather than blaming the drug only based on its clinical characteristics.

同意,抑郁到一定程度肯定需要专业人士指点,可终究也只有自己才知道什么方法对自己最有效

I like the traveler's question, traveling and real life is different. It is OK to feel anxious when you were advised something unexpected, then do something about it, gradually you will develop your ability to manage your anxiety.

It is good for this topic, but I didn't feel she hit the point, because myself is professional counsellor for many years, I hope Mental health can be well educated in China.

Joy Love Thanks for your insightful opinion about the video. What I found upset is that the predominant psych therapies in China are either medication or psychoanalytical “talk therapy”, which is inconsistent with the stream-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, for example. That’s the general deficit among psychological workers, let alone the public recognition.

Rather, she sounds unnatural or even creepy to me ! A friend of mine working in the Psychiatric Hospital for decades in Hong Kong told me that very few doctors working there for a number of years are still "normal" . They have to see loads of psychiatric patients of all kinds talking to them everyday, treating them and I'm not sure, perhaps thinking of these cases at nights or even in their vacation...
