Can I add 'for one ' before 'to bowl' to bring the clarity in the sentence ..Is 'for one ' silent in the sentence I.e he is tough batter to bowl ... Or i should consider ' to bowl ' as the adjective form of infinitive modifying noun batter ...???

In case of joining by using participle, we need to follow a rule where it clearly states that the subject should be the same while two sentence are joined by using participle ..For ex- they heard the sound. They rushed to the spot . If I join this sentence , using present participle ,it will be -hearing the sound , they rush to the spot .Here the same subject is they ..But recently I have come across a sentence which is -' considering all the matters , they will be given opportunities "in this case consideration is done by someone and opportunities are received by others so, the sub is not same .Then my question is why despite subject not being the same , this sentence has been joined by using participle ?????????
@MASTIKIPATHSHALA20202 жыл бұрын
It is called misplaced participle. Ex - being a rainy day, we did not go out. The correct sentence will be "It being a rainy day, we didn't go out. ' Because we are not the rainy day. It needs a different subject. So It being a rainy day should be used. In your case, regarding, concerning, considering, speaking do not refer to any particular subject. They can do without agreement with any noun or pronoun. Here the unexpressed subject is indefinite. So participle need not be in agreement with the noun or pronoun it refers to.

In short can I say this - 1.When sentence is in active (in all tense present ,past,future )-use present participle(adj) 2.when sentence in passive (in all tense present ,past ,future )- use past participle 3.when there is modal like will,can etc -use infinitive as adjective (but not everytime ) CAN I SAY THIS SIR??????

@@MASTIKIPATHSHALA2020 thank u sir ....🙏.... Generally in future passive, we shorten the sentence using to+be+v3rd form (replacing will be +v3rd ) as 'will ' is a modal ... Though the direct use of past participle is also correct but its direct use doesn't convey the meaning properly that's why we use to be +verb 3rd form .. Ex. The house which will be built will be dedicated to the school . I can write this sentence in two ways .. 1.the house built will be dedicated to the school .(direct use of past participle ) 2.the house to be built will be dedicated to the school .(as will is a modal therefore to +be+v3rd form) Sentence no 2 here gives more clarity about the meaning of the sentence than sent no 1 . Can I reduce every modal verb by replacing it with infinitive ? If i say - he knows how he should do it . To shorten this if I omit 'should'{which is a modal } and place only to+ do then the sentence becomes he knows how to do it .. Another example : there is no place where I can live .I can write this sentence in this way there is no place to live in .The infinitive to live acting as adjective modifying place . Therefore can I replace the modal verb with infinitive to shorten a sentence .? Please reply sir ???
