Because she has Tourettes, Billie has found that right physical compromise between voice, style, and technique. As you said, it may not work for everyone but she perfected it starting with her singing in a children's choir. Many voice coaches, going by their reactions on youtube, have trouble accepting her uniqueness. They still want her to belt and sound like every other singer. Glad to see you've not gone that far.

Over the last few years I've come to appreciate that sometimes the "technically correct" thing to do isn't necessarily the best option for every singer. Billie's a great example of this - sure, it's not what most singers are doing, but it's pretty difficult to argue with her success. She seems to have found a way of singing that works really well for her and I'm excited to see where she goes with it.

Yeah, you're not wrong, the mix on this performance was simply shocking. Her vocals were way too quiet and the drums drowned everything out. The Jimmy Fallon performance sounded 10 times much better (as did all the festival footage of this song from a few weeks ago). BTW, did you see her try a little musical theater over Halloween?
