I'm a 78 year old retired teacher, singer/songwriter, performer, and musician. (If musicians ever really retire!) I had gotten very disappointed in American POPular music and burned out. (So, I really appreciated your little comment about American music lacking a sense of artistry.) Discovering the genius of Dimash several years ago resurrected my Spirit and passion for music again. He is an uncanny and unique coming together of prodigy, the gifted voice, nurturing of his talents, and intense training with his work ethic and passion. He inspires me, entertains me, and connects me with the Spiritual world in a powerful way. I'm so thankful that I have been blessed to have lived long enough to experience him and his musical artistry. Also, I want you to know that I enjoy your reaction and anaysis very much. Blessings.

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than sevent musical instruments and sings in more than nine languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "Popera" he also has a very pleasant, Humble and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, Tenor, Soprano, against Tenor, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, whistle tone, reaching a D8 live at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from Venezuela🇻🇪, "Dears" Forever ❤️👍🏻

Bastau concert is a masterpiece! This performance is perfect in every part. Water, lights, shadows, the Dimash's wearing style , the body language, Dimash way of getting inward while he sings, the immense stage that could seem empty but he fills everywhere like a giant creature ,and capture you in his story .... people hypnotized and me too. He brings you into the story and I felt like I was there watching that scene physically emotionally ,living it. This is my favourite too, but every Dimash song I listen at the end I say: It is my favourite...so.... Did you listen to "Daididau" from Bastau? Let's listen to it but before you must know the story behind...another amazing journey ! Thanks forr your reaction ..sorry for my not so good English

I'm with you on that run. It always kills me when I watch reactions to this song and people don't even acknowledge or react to the awesomeness of what he did there. I especially hate when they react to the show version when he was really sick and doesn't do half of what he does here. Nice reaction.
@EK-tf2eo4 жыл бұрын
In The Singer, he doesn't do everything he does at the Bastau concert, but that performance is also great and extremely touching. So don't overdo this "hate" : D
@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl4 жыл бұрын
@@EK-tf2eo Saying he is better in one performance than another is not hate on one or the other. He just obviously "sings" better in the Bastau concert and it, to me, is a more moving performance. He is able to concentrate on performance rather than trying to find/sing the notes he can hit because he was sick.
@EK-tf2eo4 жыл бұрын
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl Then you probably don't know what you are writing, you wrote, "I especially hate when they react to the show version when he was really sick and doesn't do half of what he does here". And I referred to this your "hate". I wouldn't say he was unfocused when he sang on The Singer. He performed the song as best he could then, and if we didn't know he was sick (but not enough not to sing), there would be no subject of inferior performance at all, just a slightly different interpretation.

Dimash gives one of the greatest performances I've ever seen here. Knowing the story and having the lyrics definitely beings anybody with a soul to tears. But....it's worth it! His utter abandon and way of expression is without paralell today. At the end, when he's on his knees ...he raised his arms as if he's reaching out and wailing for his parents...all to no avail. And with the tilt of the head with the last note....it's daybreak. They are forever gone. I like how you do things. Play the video then go back over the places you want to talk about with clear points to make. Thank you so much for your astute commentary and respect you give to this very special and gifted young man.

Yes, you can be critical of American music.....in fact, you should be so. We are limited in our exposure to great music, thru the commercialism of our music industry, and the willingness of the American people to be sold a narrowly focused brand of "americanised" music that is based more on promotion and profit than enjoyment of true creativity. We realize this when we stumble upon musicians like Dimash, Angelina Jordan, and Diana Ankudinova, who you mentioned. Very enjoyable video.....mahalo!

I do not know whether you have a Ph.D. in music, but your analysis of this performance could be part of an overall dissertation on Dimash' s gift and talents, skills and abilities. As a member of your jury, I would give you an A+ for the deconstruction part of this particular section of your thesis. Not before, obviously, I would have asked you a host of questions, like this one, which is one of central interest to me: Do you believe that music, and, most of all, vocal music, provides therapeutic values, and, if so, would you agree that its sound vibrational frequency corresponding to the exact frequency of the listener holds the secret of its health and wellness benefits in cases of psychosomatic pains, troubles, disorders and even illnesses and diseases? Thank you!

"especially in American music, it lacks the heart and soul" well, pretty much all popular pop music around the world these days. So true. I miss the day of Queen's Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson. True artists like them and Dimash are one in generation. Sometimes you find them in indie songs and garage bands, but they never get popular for some reason or if they did they lost the heart and soul along the way.

Everyone must appreciate the kazakh people, their power to make great shows ! It's interesting to know that like NASA in USA there is Baikonur in Kazakhstan and this is not possible without very educated engineers and people ! For the people who does not know in this moment Kazakhstan have Dimash Kudaibergen probably the best singer in the world but for sure the best vocalist in the world, Zarina Altimbaieva in the first 5 sopranos in the world, you can see performing with Dimash in "Question of Honour" and Daneliya Tuleshova recent finalist on AGT 2020, you noticed the orchestra and I notice what a great music school Kazakhstan has at this moment ! I remember that the presence of Daneliya in World's best make Dimash to quit the contest beeing in semifinals, it was the proof that for Dimash the most important were his moral values, his tradition not the money (in Kazakhstan the mature people do not compete with children like in sports where juniors do not compete with seniors in the same contest) !

Yes, Han Hong is a woman and a famous Chinese Singer, born 1971 in Tibet. She wrote the lyrics and music of the song "Daybreak" and she later adopted the boy. Dimashs song version is full of emotion and you Christi explained it for us in your deconstruction. For me the water fountains are building a strong contrast to the emotions of the lyrics, they could be the tears in the story and the pain, may be a part of the story. They build a wall, a curtain in the scene behind. You can´t ignore the fountains while listening Dimash and his interpretation of the song. The fountains stops (dies) in the last part of the song when Dimash is telling the story in lower voice when the boy saw father and mother drifting away, leaving him alone in the strange, foreign world. Thank you Christi for your reaction, love, peace and blessings.

Thank you for such an epic analysis and reaction, Christi! This one must have taken a lot of effort in editing, I enjoyed it so much, thank you!! Daybreak is on the top of my personal Dimash performances as well (especially the Bastau version with the epic arrangement and orchestration), but nothing has managed to top Sinful Passion's sustained mixed Bb5 into a pentatonic run over a 23 seconds breath for me. This is the top shocking Dimash moment for me, if we are talking about technique. Thanks again, your videos are always a pleasure to watch!! You are a true pro!

Dimash's original performance of this song in the Chinese I Am Singer competition was almost marred by him losing his voice the day before. Check out the background of what happened from Gloria Wu's channel. He had to get a shot in the throat (larryngitis?) and even the next day he wasn't doing so hot. His performance though was literally unbelievable knowing the state of his voice, and super emotional (with camera shots of audience members shedding tears), but until one listens to this version, one wouldn't have realized that he removed several areas such as your favorite part! So I'm glad you used this version though his I Am Singer version was as emotional if not more.

Love your reaction! The beauty of Dimash isn't how he delivers the song... it's how he BECOMES the song... so you can see, hear, and feel his emotions pouring out. You become part of the story being told. Performers like that are extremely rare. And yes, the up run towards the end is phenominal!!! Even with all of the incredible acrobatics throughout this performance, there isn't a single moment where it overshadowed the message. If anything, it only accentuated it. Dimash is a master of his craft.

Also see Gloria Wu's treatment of his performance of the same song on Singer 2017. The intro not only tells the backstory, and shows him talking on the phone to Han Hong, but also has the added drama caused by him having lost his voice the day before he had to sing, and shows him getting an injection to his throat.(Use the "cc" button on the intro.) At the end they have a photo of Han Hong and the boy in the story (whom she had adopted).

excellent breakdown here; thank you kindly for the insights & for the dimash appreciation, as always. this performance has always been in the "always just guts me every time i hear it" dimash music category, so i agree it's a piece of absolutely breathtaking artistry & commitment to honoring, respecting & bringing another's very personal & emotional journey to life, which we all know dimash is so very good at--his ability to cover songs in a classy & respectful, yet still "over the top dimash" kinda way never ceases to impress me. if you'd like another unique & heavenly beautiful, calm, serene & not overwhelming performance from him i personally have connected very much with a newer song ("thousands of miles/a common dream"), which was televised about 3 months ago. it just leaves me entirely calm & feeling as though i'm weightless every time i hear it... it's dimash's most comforting showing thus far for me, which is unique because i usually listen to dimash for the drama & flair in his vocal techniques... the song i just mentioned takes you on this whole otherworldly relaxing trip through space & time. please consider reacting to it at some point, or at the very least please watch it on yr own time... it's truly worth it. ♥️

Hi Christi. Great reaction as usual! My favourite one too no question - it is incredible! Can i recommend that you go on Gloria Wu's channel for Dimash. There is a very emotional back story to this song and 2 others - Daididau and Autumn Strong. They are also amazing. Listen to The Singer performance of this song - some people say it is even better!
