you can cut them and lay them flat and add CA glue for them , DC audio does it and they call it the SPL neck option

Nice video.. Please do you know if old type r (grey cone) were better or newer ones are still ok? Becase newer ones somehow looks cheaper to me

generation 3-5 are all pretty similar 2nd generation have smaller coils (2” instead of 2.58”) and taller baskets. 1st generation have single role surround smaller coils and no spider mounting ring. 1-3 all have cardboard dustups which are more challenging to salvage…. from a rebuilding perspective i prefer 4-5

At the risk of showing my ignorance on this subject, wouldn't it be easier to cut it before gluing it in?

@@MicraHakkinen you are correct. It would 100% be easier to do before the cone is assembled, and I would probably use the same technique 🤣
