Prominent No campaigner Warren Mundine has attacked the National Indigenous Television network and SBS, over a heated exchange on its voice referendum coverage
SBS says The Point’s hosts moderated a robust debate between two guests on live television in a sincere effort to ensure that it remained fact based, constructive, and a safe space for discussion.

“SBS and NITV’s coverage of the referendum has explored and challenged arguments across the spectrum of the debate all year, providing a constructive contribution to this important national conversation. The Point continued to do so last night through the program’s live results coverage, which featured authentic, considered and at times impassioned discussion on the impact of Australia’s decision, and included a broad range of perspectives.
“As part of that program, hosts Narelda Jacobs and John Paul Janke moderated a robust debate between two guests on live television in a sincere effort to ensure that it remained fact based, constructive, and a safe space for discussion.
“We support and thank Narelda, fellow host John Paul, and the entire SBS and NITV team, for their role in delivering an important and challenging discussion on the program last night, and the work of all our journalists and crew across our coverage throughout the campaign.”
