Oh my god??? This is so helpful, the difference in my voice when I'm counting is so drastic, I love it.

the humming exercise was actually perfect. I can't believe it. counting without humming feels impossible and breathy. before this, I hadn't watched any tutorials, and my throat still feels extremely sore from my 2hr sesh of trying to talk with an untrained low voice.. these tips are gold to me.

As someone who used to be an opera singer - I have the technique to reach that note and I can talk in that pitch but it just makes me sound like a fake deep-voiced woman instead of trans-masculine. Sad face. Any ideas on how to counter that? Great video by the way. (My singing voice is a dramatic soprano that slipped down to a mezzo-soprano as I got older, if it matters.)

Hi, I appreciate your feedback! One thing that will help is to focus on resonance. You can create a darker-sounding resonance by creating bigger spaces in the mouth/throat and keeping the tongue back and low (like an ah sound). This can be accomplished by lowering the jaw a bit more than you normally would and slightly opening the throat. I'll upload a video on this soon! :)

@@jordanrosscommunication Thank you! I've been looking around for vids on voice training but most of it is aimed at total vocal coaching beginners and so is kind of useless to me as I already spent years and years on how to manipulate my voice and it's also in a correct breathing position (so I don't do the high-pitched head voice a lot of women do and it has good breathing support). I subbed, looking forward to it!

There’s a video by “Trans Vocal” called “Vocal Masculinization Compilation” which addresses some other reasons why you may not sound too masculine, idk if that may help you

I’ve been looking for good tutorials for this for forever! KZbin finally decided to help me out by recommending this video to me 👀 Transmasc dude here, voice masculinization has been something I’ve been wanting to get into for a long time, but the methods I’ve tried so far don’t work for my squeaky ass vocal range... so I just gave up. Hope this works better, we’ll see 😅

Hello! You can try using the free app VoiceTools and going to the tone section. Although, I don't like how it has set gender markers. You can turn them off in the settings section. :)

any tips on how to reach that D3? G3 is the lowest I can currently produce
@jordanrosscommunication3 жыл бұрын
Start out with a gentle hum (mmm) at G3. If successful at G3, move to F# or F3. It's ok if you're not able to make it to D3. Soon, I'll be uploading videos on how you can manipulate the resonance (shape of your mouth and throat) to sound deeper even if you're having difficulty reaching the lower notes. :)
