Someone said it recently but R&B just hasn't been the same since we took the church out of it! We have a few girls still, but the color and character you learn from church singing produced gems like Faith! Her voice cuts through so many we hear today because its so unique and anointed.

It's true. Most of the singers from back in the day came from the church, sang in the choir. When people stopped going to church, you saw the talent dwindle.

Absolutely agree! Growing up singing in church gives the voice depth, range, color, character, & emotion. Some argue this, but I also think if done PROPERLY, it gives us a strength and longevity to sing without getting tired so fast.

She sounded ahhhhhmazing here.. but that bridge!!! SHE KILLED IT!!! And lets not forget how she murdered on the Masked Singer. Even with a huskier and and raspier sound. I'll admit, while I loved her music and her unique voice back in the day, I think I slept on her vocally because I just hadn't seen much of her live. But this performance opened my eyes FULLY and then to see how she bodied TMS. Sheesh!
