Hey Pellegringa (thanks Doug!), may I suggest you widen your ethnic reaction repertoire by doing a video reaction to Lara Fabian's "Je Suis Malade".......Lara is considered a female vocal beast in Europe and hails from Belgium.....a vocal and emotional giant and Dimash considers her one of his fave vocalists. There are quite a few KZbin reactions to her performance but I wanna see your version with the injection of Emi's humour. Other performances to consider are "Adagio" and "Caruso" Here is the link to the performance of "Je Suis Malade" : kzbin.info/www/bejne/mofZnaCmpJqab80

Emi, thank you so much for the honesty and a deeper insight into you. I commend you on the way you deal with your condition so well that I totally skipped over the signs as quirks. I applaud you for accepting the life you have without complaints. When I was a young girl I had a neighbor with a condition that a lot of people didn't want to deal with but we became very close and I enjoyed helping her cope with her condition & the stress she lived with. I was always able to calm her down which made her & her parents happy. I will always keep you in my thoughts & prayers. 🎶👱♀️💕💙

18:40 So interesting to hear your perspective as a person with this syndrome. Thanks for sharing. I believe it can be also useful, for relatives and friends who have a hard time dealing with a person with this syndrome. Listening to the problems you went through sheds a different light upon the subject. Even I, who don't have a problem with it, felt for you. It would take a psychopath not to feel empathy for you as you walk us through the issues you lived because of Tourette's. It's good, though, that you know how to deal with it with some kind of humor. It means you are on top of the problem, not on the bottom of it, being beat down by it. Good job! I Hope the best to you. I started watching you because of Dimash, now I'm a subscriber. It was "subscription at first sight". 😂 Love your work, keep up with it! 👏🏻

Emi would you discuss the sequence of things you do/teach as the music starts just before the sound of the first word of the opening phrase. For example, assuming correct posture, do you expand your chest then slowly get a full stomach breath then set your abs & diaphraghm, then think about the first pitch, set your mouth to pronounce the first word then sing (with no preceding breath noise - that annoying gasping sound)? Or do you just grab a quick big breathe and let it loose? I can't get any voice teacher/vocal coach to respond. The concept of slow breathing (takining advantage of the time you have to load up breath and setting your diaphragm[no air movement] before making noise) seems uninteresting to them. To me it is essential to having enough breath to carry over/sustain notes and to virtually eliminate breath noise (unless the style of a song requires it). This is the method I was taught and have used for many years and it has worked well for me as an amateur. I'd be extremely interested in your opinion and to know what you teach. Thanks in advance for reading and responding.

Aww man, I guess the questions you lost, some of them were mine. I asked what your advice is to any singer who’s dreams are shattered by vocal problems (nodules, polyps, hemorrhage, cysts etc) either they can’t sing anymore or can barely sing because of the listed problems? Do you recommend surgery if no vocal therapy helps?
@EmiPellegrinoMusic5 жыл бұрын
Will Butter UGH I KNEW I LOST GOOD QUESTIONS !! There are many ways to go around this . Surgery is an option for certain people if your condition is that extreme , but the healing process is awful . If you're the the beginning of nodes or polyps , you can ease your chords back to health . Voice therapy is a great thing ! Steam a LOT , invest in a good steamer , and practice healthy speaking !

My vocals feel tight and neck muscle feel tired on songs that really don't have much range when intact my range is much higher How can I overcome this dilemma
@EmiPellegrinoMusic4 жыл бұрын
Ernie Lazos 22 Hi there ! Thank you for your question 😁 Tell me about your vocal history . Do you smoke at all ? How much caffeine do you drink ? Do you drink alcohol ?? Do you have to use your voice loudly on a regular basis ? Try massaging your neck muscles , as well as massaging your larynx (it might feel weird , but it helps). Steam your voice as well ! Either get a facial steamer or lean over a pot of boiling water with a towel over your head . That should help relax your chords . Now , with singing , definitely do some exercises FIRST because if you're tight , that'd be trying to lift weights with already tight muscles and it's going to make it worse . Start small with lip trills or hums . Work a LOT on fkagelot (the headvoice above headvoice or the falsetto above falsetto). It's a veryyyyy smalllll squeaky sound . VERY healthy for the voice , it's a good stretch ! Try to avoid doing too many glottals , but that doesn't mean replace them with air . I HOPE THIS ALL HELPS 🎶
