Those harmonies are exceptional. I really noticed how well he sang on this song when I heard a mashup of this song with a Daft Punk song here on youtube. When people say he couldn't sing, what people don't realize is that they don't like his stylized singing, it has nothing to do with his ability because he definitely COULD sing!

I've always loved how he sings the verses on this song, and the bridge is highly underrated. A Horror/RnB song with pop locking Zombies in the video is so ahead of its time. The GOAT. And they compare this man to Harry Styles and Chris Brown. Smh

Always love hearing MJ get the love & respect he deserves as a vocalist. I see other people here pretty much saying the same thing, as we've experienced many people saying he can't sing, or "he's an average singer", or "he's more of an entertainer than a singer" all kinds of things. While being someone who loves Mike as a pure singer, I'll say that even if you don't LIKE his singing...you have to recognize the talent & skill he has vocally. The emotion, the electricity...& the fact that he can sing in several different styles & genres, which is rare.
@misspbrown256628 күн бұрын
👋🏾✌🏾-?? ...an average singer?? - I would have to say definitely an entertainer that could sing, dance & hold everyone's attention from the beginnings of the Jackson 5. 📺 Filmed recordings, music shows or MVs. 🎥

It's because MJ was such an impressive dancer that people forget he was also an impressive singer. People also forget MJ was the songwriter behind many of his biggest hits (Billie Jean, Beat it, Dirty Diana, They Don't Care About Us, Bad, Don't Stop til You Get Enough, etc). He could also compose his music by beatboxing and having the musicians recreate it.

I love these acapella versions of Michael's most famous songs. Yes, he absolutely was underrated as a singer and taking out his groundbreaking videos and amazing dancing, you have to focus on his actual singing. Theres an element to his voice that was just so unique, it amazed. I see that similar with mitch grassi of pentatonix. So unique youre almost shocked at first. I think these acapella videos will showcase to new generations that he was also an amazing singer.

That snake, hell nah, that man get wayyyyy too much credit on Mike's career. And he wasn't really in the studio like that, it was mostly Bruce swedien, MJ, and the whole b team. All that bullshit Quincy talked about Mike I would never trust him when it comes to speaking on Mike
@LYBism28 күн бұрын
My friend said that Tevin Campbell is a better singer than MJ was. I told her that they sang different types of songs, and therefore it's hard for some people to really appreciate Michael's range. But, of course, we had MJ as a kid to pull from. Had Tevin sang ABC, STOP THE LOVE YOU SAVE, etc., he would have sounded like Michael. Had Michael sang CAN WE TALK the R&B way, he would have sounded like Tevin. Michael CHOSE to go the "pop" route, and in doing so, he tailored his voice to suit HIS sound and style. However, had he stayed R&B (or had Tevin chosen the pop route) you would see that Tevin is not necessarily a better singer than MJ. TECHNICALLY, MJ was a beast. No, he wasn't singing songs like Luther, but the technicalities that went into his songs TOTALLY make up for that. The attention to details were astounding! The vocal stackings, the harmonies, the way he chose to pronounce, the grit, the breathy sounds, etc. are things that separated him from rest. And he didn't stop there. he actually studied the ones that went before him and enhanced his craft. The man was simply born to do what he did.
@finderkeeperrrs25 күн бұрын
Nahhh for me young MJ is better than tevin, love you tevin. But they both are child prodigy. I always feel like people hold Mike going pop, he never went pop, whatever that means. I mean I don't think thriller is pop, and king of pop is too limited which I hate the king of music. Unpopular opinion but young MJ can hang with Luther on vocals. And I ain't talking about abc, I want you back, the love you save.

@LYBism23 күн бұрын
@@finderkeeperrrs, Michael was the SELF-PROCLAIMED King of Pop. He gave himself that title. But I agree; he was the King of It All! But I have to disagree; he did go pop. If you compare his OFF THE WALL to everything that came after, THRILLER and everything else was more pop. I prefer the disco/R&B MJ, but that is not to say that I didn't still LOVE his music. My point was, though, that because of the direction he chose to go with his music, he tailored his voice to that style of music. His voice was more soulful pre-THRILLER. Even his dance style was more soulful. But he was STILL the greatest to ever do in my opinion.
@finderkeeperrrs23 күн бұрын
@LYBism he never proclaimed himself the king of pop, that was actually Elizabeth Taylor. And he wasn't really pop and the king of pop is a bullshit and limited title. Bad was funk, r&b, and SOME pop. but today he went full pop is ridiculous. It's so weird cause even if Mike was self proclaimed as the king of pop which he wasn't it wouldn't matter, cause that white man Elvis is called the king of rock n roll and he is not.

CHRIS BROWN WHO?
@bougiebohemian539328 күн бұрын
Chris Brown has been very vocal regarding his love and respect for Michael. I would strongly argue his biggest influence is Michael Jackson. I think the natural tendency is to compare him to Michael because of his very strong dancing and performing abilities. He’s definitely a “musical child” of MJ for sure.
