But this is clearly about the Iraq war.Billboard reported on 20 December 2002 that Gibb wrote a song with Jackson recently in protest of the United States government's plan to invade Iraq (which took place in March 2003). It start with "there is one religion", this is definitely not about fans, it has been and it will be the powerful message of the madness of war in God's name. I understand Barry Gibb, that he didn't like to sing a protest song or a political song, if you consider that he is British and not American. Michael wrote that song and he wanted Barry to join him.

Thank you for reaction to this song. There were 2 monks and a woman (in Austria), they wrote a book about Michael. In an interview they mentioned this song, and that Michael often showed social problems of our time. In Michael's song there is often a religious meaning. The monk even said that you can hear in their voices were full of pain and suffering. It was actually Michael who wrote that song, he asked Barry to join him. I love this song, it's so tender and emotional - and underrated! I think of course it's about war "All In Your Name" in that sense that we fight each other for the same higher power. Please react to "Stranger in Moskow". It's one of Michael's really personal songs. A man who is in a foreign country, alienated from his own country and disconnected from the world. He wrote that song during his allegation, about the unfair treatment and the destructive media. He feels isolated and despair. He compared the media to the KGB of the Soviet union. And it's really true, the KGB (security of the state) would treat people unfairly and tried to bring them into prison. His lyrics are brilliant, the comparison is so great. It really shows what a great artist Michael was. Of course a reaction to Robin Gibb: I started a joke, with his really beautiful voice and the sad meaning of the song, would be really great. Barry's voice, as I have observed has certainly changed over the decades. Meaning, in that (again, as I have observed, not to any depth, just listening to him sing and watching him sing on many videos over the years) he appears to have to really concentrate and 'squeeze' out his voice more and more in the last few decades (1998 onward). Don't know if its his age, weight gain, back issues or other factors or a combo of them all. I still enjoy hearing him sing. And of course, for me, as much as I enjoyed each one of the Brothers Gibb individually. There was 'magic' when their voices were blended together as one and within the context of their band performances together. I think of Barry singing as it appeared effortlessly in the 60's, 70's and 80's. In particular I think of the iconic 'To Much Heaven', 'To Love Somebody', 'How Can You Mend a Broken Heart', 'I've Gotta Get a Message to You'. Robin's voice control seemed to remain effortless for him over the years. They were - are one of the greatest bands to date. My personal favorite - the songs and the harmony and all the rest.

Just remember that Barry is NOT in his prime here musically. Yet, pretty awesome for someone his age. If you want to hear Barry as a soloist, just go to his song "Words" or "To Love Somebody" etc. Actually he was the main soloist in a lot of the songs of the Bee Gees.

This was true for the late seventies era. But if you remember the sixties and start seventies correctly you know that they used Robin's very powerful vibrator voice a lot because they knew that this was unmatched by anyone. This voice is very clear on Massachussets, I Started A joke, I.ve Gotta Get A Message You and my favorite And The Sun Will Shine + many more. Also on many songs they used their harmonies creating the distinctive Bee Gees sound. This harmony would not have worked without Maurice's voice to make the connection between Robin and Barry's voice. Also in the seventies there were distinctive Robin songs like Love Me, Country Lanes and also on Spirtits Robin's high falsetto, which in fact were higher than Barry's but not so controlled, was used to some extend. So to say that Barry was the lead vocalist is simply not true. He himself has said that without the 3 voices together with their each distinctive sound the Bee Gees sound would not have worked. The chorus on Too much Heaven and How Deep is Your love is possibly the best examples of that.

As a vocal coach you have to react to "Too Much Heaven" which is arguable the best Falsetto performance by a male. You could also try "Reaching Out". Both are from their Spirits Having Flown album which was the follow up to Saturday Night Fever.
