Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration. This whole Michael's performance was live. Great performance at his age and he had very severe health problems at this time. I recommend his entire performance from these concerts. In addition to solo hits, he performed again with his brothers - for the first time in 17 years. Sadly, then came a judgment that proved his innocence but destroyed his health and soul forever.

the video is from the 30th anniversary of his career, it took place in NY 2001 9/10 September, yes just one day before 9/11 and actually Michael was supposed to go to the twin towers on 9/11 for a meeting but he overslept cause he talked all night with his mother so he missed the meeting and probably saved his life. Many artists performed at the concert so it was definitely rehearsed and planned!

Hey, if you really like that vocal-jazz intro, check out the song Streetwalker by Jackson. Streetwalker was written for Bad, but left off the album (a big mistake in my opinion), but he released it as a single during the Bad Era and did a music video for it. The opening, closing, and sporadic parts of the song feature those same harmonies, but at a faster rate. He'd use them again here (in the video you're watching) and as an intro to Smooth Criminal for his Dangerous and HIStory tours. Just so you know, if you really listen carefully, a large chunk of MJs vocals are from the backing track. There are moment like with a lot of his performance of this song on the Bad and Dangerous tours, where for a moment or two he went live, but the large part is his backing track. He is not singing live. All he's done is bring the tone down to make it sound deeper. If you play TWYMMF on a laptop and drop the tone a bit, it sounds just like this.He mimed.

I think it was last decision because Britney is one of the best dancers and she did not dance with Michael. It was only walking the whole show! So I think it was a last minute decision with no rehearsal time. It would be amazing seeing both of them dance togather. Too think their lives would be so similar. This is the 30th Ann special at Madison Square Garden. Half the show was tributes from other artists. Th other half was a reunion with his brothers and a solo set. This version aired on the CBS version but removed from the other broadcasts. MJ was really sick but they dragged him out of his hotel room for the shows. It was just before 9/11
