I've actually met Haley a couple times and once, hung out with her and Casey Abrams for a bit of an afternoon. She's super chill, quick to smile and just blows you away when she performs. Really a sweet lady

I thought you had already reacted to this gorgeous rendition by PMJ and Haley, imagine my surprise AND joy!! i love both the band and this singer a lot. Fun fact, Haley was dead tired and i believe not feeling too well either when they recorded this. They just had returned from a long nights performance and figured there was still a bit of time in the day to record something, they did this in 1 or 2 takes. Haley is a special one to say the least, the way she feels the music and expresses it with her amazing voice and gestures/movements is simply beautiful and breathtaking. And Scott Bradley, the pianist, bandleader, and re-arranger/composer of the renditions PMJ plays, he's a musical genius and he knows it's about the singers in his music, he's just there to carry them through the music and by doing so he puts them in the spotlight that they deserve. Thnx for the react Valerie :D

great reaction. haley is one the greatest, most unique vocalist of our time. postmodern jukebox (or pmj) takes current songs and completely re-imagines them vintage (1920s to 1960s) in the music itself and style of the performances that actually take you back in time. they have a variety of good vocals but haley reinhart especially with postmodern jukebox is incredible. all the other haley/pmj ones are great also: "all about the bass", "habits", "black hole sun", "mad world", "seven nations army", "oops i did it again", "lovefool" and the very recent "don't speak".

By now, I would think that otgers have recommended her with PMJ doing a cover of Seven Nations Army. I can tell you that the artist behind her are exemplary. The trumpeter is Mike Rocha. He is very big in tge LA basin, and also headed a 20+ piece jazz band at a local college in SoCal. Our son was a member of that band. The sax player is Jacob Scezney. He went to school with Casey Abrams up at Idyllwild Arts Academy. Jacob studied under Paul Carmen, who is tge former sax player for Frank Zappa, touring with him for 10 years and doing a half doz albums with him. Our son also took lessons from Paul. Hacob went on to play with tge Vlack Eyed Peas as well as doing much studio work for ither big names. Casey trained on bass under Marshall Hawkins who is the former bassist for Miles Davis. You've got some serious players on this stage. Haley is the cherry on top

I could see you really enjoyed this one. If you want to see one with Haley having a lot of fun, please watch her performance with PMJ doing "7-Nation Army". Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXOZeYxup55racU As to your comments about Haley's creativity, I think that is what lost her the win on American Idol. She was considered too independent and couldn't be counted on to stick to the performance as it was rehearsed. The audiences loved it. I'm so glad she didn't win. She's much too good for those shows.

Haley came in third on American Idol--I thought she should have won and I lost interest after she was eliminated. Of course, Simon Cowell was just a judge on American Idol, not a producer, although the most acerbic one, and he had left American Idol a couple years before Haley was on. But of course he did have several other competition shows he produced--do you remember American Inventor, all two seasons of it? Of course not.
@vidpie2 жыл бұрын
Simon Cowell rejected Haley in S9. He might have been sabotaging the show since he was leaving to start X-Factor USA. The producers had already filmed Haley performing with her mother and father around Chicago. At the start of her S10 audition in Milwaukee, Steven Tyler asks her what went wrong. She responds, "You guys told me to come back." What she means is someone from Idol called her the day before the audition in Milwaukee and encouraged her to try out again.
@fredbloggs60802 жыл бұрын
@@vidpie I see I was mistaken, Simon Cowell left the year before Haley was on, not a couple of years. Were any of Haley's auditions shown on Season 9? I don't remember seeing her being on before Season 10. Are you saying Simon rejected her in an audition that wasn't aired?
@vidpie2 жыл бұрын
@@fredbloggs6080 Haley's S9 audition was never shown. In S10, they showed a brief clip in B&W of Haley wiping away tears and being consoled by her father. I think she approached S10 with the attitude of I'm not going to let this show crush me again. Just found this in an old article: “It was such a fast letdown [last year], and it felt like it was unfairly played out - I was judged within 10 seconds of a song that the judges didn’t know,” Reinhart said from Washington, a stop on the “American Idol Live” tour... “I was really bummed out - devastated really - and I didn’t want to go back. . . . I got a call the day before the audition and found out that people were trying to email me, telling me about the audition. I figured, it was in Milwaukee, that’s not too far, and if I’m getting a call for it on such late notice - I felt like there was a reason for it, so I went for it." The only time I know of her really speaking about this experience was in an interview she gave in a classroom setting. It provides more details... kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHexeHqDjpdqbtk
