For S.O.S., I recommend the Slavic Bazaar over the Singer performance, but otherwise I agree. Also Confessa from Singer (which comes with Diva Dance on Singer, but Bastau is better for that one). I agree that Singer's Unforgettable Day is probably better than Gakku's, though Gakku's, as mentioned, has the highest note. Singer's Opera 2 is a fun performance - I do recommend it for that aspect - but in terms of vocalisations: I think you've heard enough it won't surprise you, and it is very much a show off song. And is performed as such; the deliberately smug arrogance he puts on is fantastic, I love it. Plus you get to react to the reactions, which is always fun. Also the Idol Hits version of Screaming has a nice surprise XD. ... Probably best to just watch everything he's done in every place he's done it, but if you're not ready for that, at least you now have an army of comments mostly in concert guiding you to the next place XD.

easily one of the best examples of his pure technical abilities & control over his instrument; also very short (~2 minutes or less). but those are 2 minutes during which pure magic is flowing outta his mouth & it's effing glorious. with a vocal/music background, i'm sure yr well versed with the history of the diva dance song, so yeah, just know this is the best version of the song you'll ever find, & it's being performed live following an already lengthy & vocally challenging concert. basically, it's the best shit i've ever heard.

So nice to see a vocal coach react to what is without a doubt the most amazing voice I have heard in my short 55 years on this earth. What he is doing vocally does not seem humanly possible from one person. They interviewed the Australian judge and asked him about hearing Dimash sing. He said "It is like having a direct link/conduit to God." I have heard him sing songs in at least six different languages (probably more). He has the ability to bring people to tears, even when singing in a language the hearer does not understand. Dimash is truly a unique talent that is not just once in a generation....I believe he may be a once in forever talent! There is a lot of Dimash videos to react too. I am eagerly awaiting your reactions to them!

Great reactions. Dimash is from Kazakhstan and turns 25 yrs old in May. Dimash is a phenomenon. Unfortunately, all of the World's best performances are cut and edited versions of songs. Each only two and a half minutes long. It's good that you still noticed what Dimash was doing with his voice. There's so much more to Dimash than what you heard and saw. More Dimash please.

He has participated in various competitions since 4 yrs old. he is 24 y.o. right now. He just finished his London concert. You've only heard 10% of what this guy can do. My suggestion is to watch his "The Singer 2017" performances preferrably in order from episode 1's S.O.S.. You will hear new techniques, new tones, phenomenal tone-transitions, melismas, runs & riffs that are absolutely incredible throughout his different performances.

He is from Kazakhstan and his range is from C2 to D8 but he is so much more than just the range. He is classically trained, since he was 5 years old and refused a spot in the opera to go build his own career and style, pop-opera. The show sucks, they cut up all his songs in the worst way (he is wearing the outfit in the first one because he sang a Kazakh song before that that the show just cut off and that's a traditional outfit). He was actually sick, with a fever, when he sang the 2nd song you watched. If you want to truly hear him I recommend Sinful Passion, Love of Tired Swans, SOS from the Slavic Bazar or the new MV just out a few hours ago. He sang the full version in The Singer 2017 in China and it was phenominal. I don't like that TWB tagged him 'the six octave man' because he is more than that. Yes, that's the important part: it's so much more than just range. It's: - his amount of tones and sub-tones - incredible tone as well as octave shifts/transitions - one of the clearest, strongest falsetto (at least for a male) I've ever heard - incredible vocal acrobatics such as 10-20 second sustains mixed with vibrato, runs, and tone-switches all in the same breath - impeccable overall breath-control - crazy flexibility with his tones and octaves - both western and middle eastern style runs & riffs, gorgeous melismas, and some quite complex runs - fantastic resonance and natural power - great intonation Then there are his artistic qualities in how he can change songs even on the fly but is always able to keep them sounding musical even when he adds little runs, breaks, etc. which could otherwise be annoying or ruin a song. The way he's able to partially stay true to original songs while always changing it in a unique way while still sounding beautiful is just phenomenal. His rendition of My Heart Will Go On and Hello are in his own style while not ruining the songs. His emotions, physical and vocal, are off the charts but I guess this is more personal opinion (but almost all vocal coaches and singers say the same). I've literally never heard a singer so capable in so many ways and at such high levels across the board as Dimash K....ever.

You haven’t heard anything yet! Also, he can stay in his head voice without going into falsetto! Dimash is very famous around the world with millions upon millions of devout fans! Watch him perform “Unforgettable Day” live in Gakku where he breaks the record for the highest note (D8)ever recorded during a live performance! Also check out “Sinful Passion” and “ The Diva Dance” In Sochi I believe. Better yet, watch and listen to everything you can find on Dimash (there is so much) bc I’m sure you will agree with every other vocal coach and the many musicians, teachers, ect who say he is the best vocalist in the world! He can do things that normal vocalist can’t , that’s why they say he’s from another planet lol! In all seriousness, he’s extremely talented and has become a widely used reference for many vocal coaches to their students. He’s from Kazakhstan, has over 20yrs classical & modern pop vocal training with various degrees in music. He combines several different elements to his music to create his own distinct genre. He is also a multi instrumentalists, songwriter and composer! He has written and composed some beautiful music and covered many songs. He sings in 9 or 10 different languages and speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian and is studying English and Mandarin! To top all of that off he is very humble and kind which is why his fan love him so dearly! He’s been raised right & has the heart to match those good looks! His mother was an Opera singer and his Dad is also a musician & producer, both are honored musicians in Kazakhstan. Dimash himself is considered a national treasure in Kazakhstan, a very beautiful and thriving country! Dimash’s very first concert in his life was to a sold out crowd of over forty thousand people and was given rave reviews by the media! He’s someone that any good vocal coach would definitely want to find out all about! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Just do it for the right reasons and not just to make your subscribers jump up in record numbers like some have done!

You only scratched the surface - his voice goes from deep baritone up to a D8 whistle (Unforgettable Day in Gakku - his own composition) he has perfect pitch, classical training since age 5 and he is a multi-instrumentalist. His performances at the World's Best was terribly short so the full impact is mostly lost as he is building his song very carefully.

YAHSSSS. if for no other reason than to know vitas' ego got another bruise, haha. i realize the man was put to shame by a 22 year old singing the eff outta his song, but his response rescinding permission to dimash to perform opera 2, as well as the legal threats, really made him look petty af & incredibly salty. so glad the world got to hear the song's true potential at least once. or y'know, >10 million times, at least on youtube. :)

Hi Miss Emi,it really is so interesting and fascinating finding a reactor who knows exactly how to define and interpret Dimash’s ability and prowess in singing.....which I can say YOU are one of the FEW.I have been watching,listening to him for two years now, and at my age.....this is the first time I’ve adored a singer/performer from the first time I watched him in the Chinese show “I am Singer 2017” to this day with so much love and respect!With your knowledge and expertise in vocal ability.....you are in a challenge to decipher more of Dimash’s power of singing.....because you are just at the tip of what He is,and on top of that.....He stayed humble and respectful despite his huge success.His singing ethics should be a model to all as much as his upbringing.Nothing beats seeing him live.....which I have in London concert!THANK YOU for your GREAT REACTION.

9:43 Так, то как он это спел, было точно уже не головным голосом, это уже должен был быть фальцет. У мужчин есть точка, после которой они уже не могу продолжать петь головным голосом и переходят на фальцет. Но здесь был форсированный фальцет, который можно легко спутать с головным голосом. Круто-круто-круто! 10:05 Боже, какие чувства! 10:15 Здесь есть небольшое напряжение, вы видите, как тут вздулась шея, вены на лице. Не буду слишком придираться, потому что звучит он феноменально, но это просто… Он действительно очень сильно давит эту ноту. Звук расположен правильно, в узком пространстве, но он определенно сжался для громкости звука. Но в общем, это может быть и для придания эмоционально окраски. На ежедневной основе я бы этого делать не стала, но черт побери, как же он взял эту ноту! 10:51 Eb6! 10:00 Вау, а он ещё и красавчик. 10:05 Какой пиждак! 11:12 Субтон, отличный способ закончить песню! В фальцете, отлично. Вау, окей, Димаш! Всё что я могу сказать - впечатляюще! Под очень-очень большим впечатлением, и очень горжусь тобой как преподаватель вокала. Отличная техника, всё на своих местах, использует очень много пения в нос и звука как у Iron Maiden. О, я тут G5 взяла, моё приложение работает, потому что я смотрю на нём все эти ноты. В общем…ваааау! Я даже не знаю, что ещё сказать, потеряла дар речи. Ещё раз, был небольшой зажим, но я думаю это было из-за большого давления на той ноте, я не думаю, что он там что-то делает неправильно. Когда вы давите ноту, это видно…о, я говорю на B3! Great reaction. Dimash is a magnet for views lol. His "Dears" love him, and I'm not ashamed to say I am one. I was actually introduced to Dimash on a vocal coach review about a month or two ago. Sinful Passion is one of his best. SOS, which you partially heard, is fantastic. On World's Best they edit the performances though. They clip stuff out and leave in the dramatics. I recommend listening to his SOS version from "the singer". I watched a french singer review that one and it made him cry. He said it was the most beautiful version he'd ever heard. I recommend that whole "The Singer" series in fact. You'll see how much better his English has gotten too, when you compare those English songs to the one you just heard. His cover of Lionel Richie's Hello is mind blowing. Yes, lots in store. Every song has something new. ❤❤❤ Thanks for your reaction! Great job following his notes too! I have subscribed! 😁

I think he was too nervous performing at the World's best. Watch his S.O.S. at the Slavic Bazaar or/at the Chinese contest "I am Singer" in 2017. He is more relaxed there.

The one thing you will hear over and over about Dimash is how effortlessly he sings. So it shows just how ill he was that you saw him strain at all during his performance. Everyone knew he was sick and jet lagged but he went on and did that well! He is amazing and you will see that for yourself if you watch him. I cheated initially by hitting up Dimash the singer 2017 and I found the songs one after the other in a 50 minute clip with all the extras of being introduced or audience reactions and the afterwards of the faces of the other singers who were going on. I just wanted to hear him. It was quick and easy and kept out the clutter. After that I went through his other stuff and I of course became a huge fan!

Thank you! Dimash has owned a song for a friend who was murdered July 2018. Dimash was sick and had heard some new grief news in their homeland but was able to appear. Check the Sinful Passion in there the sound scale comes out. Sorry for my english

For his audition he was suffering from nerves, jet lag and wasn't feeling well and he still performed like he did. Amazing.

Wonderful reaction. He was ill on the SOS performance. When it was filmed he was in 3 countries that week. Flew in for the show and basically right onto the stage from what I have heard. He wants to create awareness of Kazakhstan and its culture so he was very nervous it seemed as well. You might enjoy seeing either his Sinful Passion performance or The Love of Tired Swans. For pop perhaps Screaming on Idol Hits. Dimash is from Kazakhstan so speaks Kazakh and Russian. Though he is currently learning English and Mandarin. He sings in 12 languages, English being I think the most difficult as of yet for him. Though he has improved a lot since China’s I am singer competition in 2017.

This is without a doubt Dimash's least impressive performance by a large margin. He was ultra sick during that week of competition, on top of jet lag. Check out literally any of his other performances. He is only "straining" there because of the illness. He can sustain a D8 note (yes, D8, beyond piano range), with vibrato and go on singing like he didn't even do it. Dimash is a once in a century level of talent. Check out his Sochi performance of Sinful Passion to get a better understanding of his "true" range.

Great job. Would love to see u do more Dimash. "Love of Tired Swans" shows his lower range pretty well (vocal fry). I have seen many Dimash reactions and always love seeing a knowledgeable voice teacher's first reaction. Yours was priceless. I studied voice with Todd Duncan in the early 90s (Porgy from "Porgy and Bess", broke the New York Opera color barrier) and he would LOVE Dimash! People love seeing Dimash reaction videos due to high "shock value" of his performances. He's considered the "King" of music reaction universe. Is there a "Queen" you ask? Of course. Her name is *Sohyang.* And since you're a vocal coach, you're going to get an extra kick out of her performances. Because, Sohyang is acknowledged as one of the most proficient vocal technicians alive today. Unlike regular laymen, you'd actually know what she's doing, and what it takes, to achieve her level. I'll leave which specific performance recommendations to other commentators. You'll be seeing those requests soon enough. After all, they are dubbed king and queen because they command legions of loyal fans. (Oh, just in case you pick randomly, my advice is bring tissue. Sohyang's emotive capability is off the chart too, not just her techniques. You'll never know if your random pick happens to be one of those tear ducts ripper. 😁)
