In a TV interview, Lara Fabian said they were rehearsing and at a pause, Aida looked over and said, "Hey, if I have to run out for something, he can sing my part." She then burst into laughter. Lara and Dimash joined in.

This whole concert was on the occasion of Igor Krutoy’s (the pianist and composer of all the songs in the concert), 65th birthday celebration. All the artists Igor has worked with over the years, took part. The whole concert is amazing! Dimash also sang a duet with Aida called Ulisse. Dimash sang 5 songs. Lara was very ill, but you can’t tell can you? She was just amazing!

Hi from Brazil. :) Let me tell you that Lara was sick that week, the night before she told to Igor (The Master and her friend since 2005) that she would probably have to take a shot of morphine to get heal faster from pain and a strong sore troat. Dimash was present in that moment she told Igor, there's a vídeo of it... Then, Lara really took a shot of morphine minutes before that performance, she also performed more 4 songs at that concert, even though she was feeling very sick. Thank you for another reaction. 😊 Hugs.

I will provide below some more context to this amazing trio performance but let me start by saying that you just scratched the surface of Lara’s insane vocal skills and range thru your previous reaction to Je suis malade. In this song she was all about interpretation and voice agility. I recommend you for instance to react to her Adagio masterpiece kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKLShGCBhLGJlZY , that Dimash covered later, to realize how unique her low notes and beltings are. Dimash is an absolute fan of her since henis a child and covered 6 or 7 songs from her or that she performed before him. Now let’s talk about this Ti Amo Cosi performance : Let me give you some info on this incredible trio and event: - Igor is there as an overall lead because the event is built for him: this is his birthday event that he organized with all his favorite artists, the ones that he is used to collaborate with - this is not the first time that Lara sing this song (composed by Igor) in trio but the third time: she performed in the original version with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. The song was composed from day one with her voice in mind. She has been collaborating with Igor for more than 10 years and he has told from her that she is “the best singer and the best songwriter he has ever worked with” - this also explains why the song does not exposes more of Dimash’s upper register: it was written for the late Dmitriy who was a pure baryton. - Lara was very very sick, with strong medication but she is skilled enough to have made it unnoticeable - it was the first time Dimash met his idol Lara: look how quickly he turned to her, despite he has not finished his duo section with Aida 😂 And how he looks at her and hold her after it … - Lara is the most comfortable in italian because it was her first native language even before french: her mother is italian and while born in Belgium she spent her first 5 years in sicilia before returning there - look how dimash slightly adapted his vibrato to better match Aida or Lara - also there is a debate about the final note, held for such a long time, with the conductor looking at Igor and Igor smiling: Did they make a prank to the singers by extending this last note? Or did the singers instead played with them? I personnally think this is more option 1 😀 - and I forgot to add that Lara has been classically trained for more than 10 years at Brussels Royal Conservatory and still continues to receive voice lessons at least on a weekly basis. And she has sung many times opera pieces or with opera singers.

thanks for collecting all these nice fine details. btw: i tend to option 2 "let's continue", with the conductor nervously asking with his eyes for help when he can (or should or may) stop the orchestra and Igor knowingly smiling that they can do whatever (i have seen Dimash and Lara hold notes for much longer, and assume that Aida also is not "short breathed"). or maybe it was only a bit difficult to synchronize music, singing and all the action on ice to gracefully end together at the same time.

Hi, Bethany. I usually add especially something that might have overlooked or that I feel should be mentioned. However, this time, I think you've covered most or all the necessary. You are right, it's really that one would find a trio blending and singing so well together in a live performance. I may be wrong, but I get the feeling Lara more than Dimash and Aida this time was steering the second half of the performance, especially in order to keep the balance. Hence she was also the one to indicate exactly when to stop that last note. Truly a wonderful, and beautiful collaboration. Someone pointed out a subtlety that I missed, saying that Dimash matches the frequency of his vibrato for Aida, and then switches to match that of Lara, so that they are synchronized.

Good afternoon from warm and sunny Thailand. I am responding to a comment you made in a previous video reaction when you asked if Dimash has any recordings of his voice of Mozart, Donizetti, etc. I don't know of any but I have an opinion as to why he may not have! Like you, I would be very interested to hear something, though not "Nessun Dorma" or "O mio babbino Caro" that have been done to death by so many existing and past opera Singers but even more so by those in Talent shows. I have heard some wonderful renditions over the last 50 years but if he does anything, I would like to hear it, so I/we don't feel obliged to compare with those mentioned. There is also a matter of how he might put his own special mark on an aria that might attract those who would criticise if the original score or "arrangement" was perceived as challenging its integrity and intended musical message! In any case, Dimash might easily have decided he doesn't want to go "opera", though as we know, he might even show us that there is an even wider audience out there who are dedicated opera buffs for whom a breath of Dimash fresh air, I think could deliver a little something new in that genre!

I always enjoy your reactions and insightful analyses. This was a live concert in Moscow for Igor Krutoy's 65th birthday celebration. The whole concert is worth checking out. He has composed music for and performed classical and contemporary music with renowned singers, such as Anna Netrebko, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Aida Garifullina, Andrea Bocelli, Lara Fabian, Alla Pugacheva, Irina Allegrova, and others. As you probably already know, he ended his retirement after watching one of Dimash's performances so that he could compose music that only someone with Dimash's vocal ability could sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Passione, Ave Maria, Stranger, just to name a few. You are already familiar with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina. For those who are not, Aida Garifullina is a Russian lyric soprano of Tatar origin and, in 2013, started performing at the Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg. That same year, she took first place in Plácido Domingo's world-renowned, prestigious International Opera Singers Competition "Operalia" in Verona. That led to an offer to join the Vienna State Opera, as well as to a contract with well-known British record label Decca Classics. Since then, Aida Garifullina has been the voice of the Vienna State Opera. She regularly gives recitals in Vienna and London and appears in joint concerts with opera's greatest stars all over the world. Her performance with Dimash of "Ulisse" from the same concert is also incredible.

This remarkable performance took place in 2020 at a Gala concert dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Igor Krutoy, which was attended by Russian world and Olympic figure skating champions, as well as invited performers of the maestro's works. By the way, this star trio managed to meet for the first time at this evening, as everyone has a busy tour schedule. There was only one rehearsal in the morning before the concert. Aida Garifullina joked before the performance that if she urgently needed to leave, Dimash would perfectly cope with the role of soprano. :))) At this evening, Aida and Dimash performed another composition by Igor Krutoy "Ulisse".

Thank you, so much!💕 It's my Dimash anniversary today, of it being 3 years since I was first blessed with his music on some random reaction video - and I'm just as wowed by his amazing voice and artistry today, as I was back then - if not more! The way Dimash matches his vibrato with Aida and Lara is incredible, In the last note you can hear he adjusting his vibrato while ascends the tone (in the lower part of this melody line he matches Lara's vibrato and in the end on high matches Aida)

Have you noticed that Dimash and Aida cink their vibrato and the he tampes down his vibrato when he sings with Lara in order to better blend their voices. He is the vocal glue between the two.

I love this song too! Although I love almost all of Dimash's songs, and especially his beautiful crystal clear high notes, I I think I may enjoy his classical voice the most. I would be very happy to hear more of it! "Ulisse" (a duet with Aida) is also lovely. Having said that, if you haven't reacted to "The Meaning of Eternity" please do! It is one where Dimash's crystal clear high tones along with some beautiful disappearing notes are on display.

I could listen to Lara Fabian all day long. Dimash maybe half the day LOL. Lara is the greatest female voice on planet earth. David Phelps, is the greatest male voice, as his voice honors God..... more please.

It is very beautifully done, and the three of them work together very well, as a team, in service of the music. They are singing to honour the composer, and from the smile on his face, we know they did a good job. Some reactions I have seen, and a lot of comments treat the performance as Dimash + guests, or Lara and Dimash with another singer, which is not respectful to any of them, least of all Dimash, who I'm sure was very grateful to be on stage with two amazing female artists. Aida's tone is absolutely ravishing, you're quite right about the warmth of her soprano. Lara fits into the classical soundscape so beautifully, where not many popstars would. Amazing and fascinating as Dimash is, the ladies weren't there to make up the numbers, and in any case, music can never be better than the quality of the collaboration. So thank you for an appropriately balanced reaction! It's interesting to go back to the original performance of this piece, which was at least a decade ago, and in Sochi. The trio on that occasion also included Lara Fabian; Aida's part was taken the celebrated Japanese soprano, Sumi Jo, and the male part was given to the late, great Russian baritone, Dmitri Hvorostovsky. It is a very different performance! You used the word innocent at one point in your commentary, which was interesting, given that the piece is really about some kind of ménage a trois. Hvorostovsky sang it as some sort randy Lothario, while the two women competed, to an extent, for his favours; and there was little doubt what form those favours took! It was really unmistakably naughty and sexy. Hvorostovsky was famously a man of appetites, one might say, and also a well-seasoned actor from the operatic stage, for whom projecting character through singing was second nature. Same for Sumi Jo, in fact, and Lara's often have the quality of personal experience. So they played it like a drama. This performance, beautifully done as it is, does not have that sense of a drama and character, and I'm not sure that from just listening or watching one would have a strong sense of what the story is really about. It's like a sex comedy without any sex, where everyone is chaste and extremely polite - so not really a comedy at all! The drama was really on the ice. Lara's performance is very, very different - she was like a predatory cat before. Aida has played, amongst any number of romantic roles. So one has to imagine this dramatic reticence is something to do with Dimash. Maybe it's cultural, or maybe it's him, but he doesn't really project his sexuality in his performances. His voice is, obviously, androgynous in its range and timbres. And it's not like he isn't emotional - there's incredible intensity in many of his performances. But there is also something reserved and mysterious about him, which this performance emphasises, I think.

Agree and think it is very cultural for Dimash as a devout muslim. Although he has started to act a bit more flirty in hos popsongs and performances like Be With Me but he will definitely keep it very clean. I think he is very romantic and seems drawn to poems about love and lost love. I found it very funny when he sang the turkish DJs song the Weekend at the concert in Antalya 2023 with the lyrics "popping bottles backstage" and "trashing the room". Sure.. It will be bottles of sodas and Dimash would clean up any mess.. 😆.

@@portiaj4374 I can't help wondering whether he might possibly be not particularly interested in the opposite sex, qua sex? His private life is his own business of course, but he guards it so very fiercely. It's not really appropriate to compare him to Justin Bieber or Harry Styles; but he is good looking and rich young man, and yet no part of his ego seems to be invested in trying to impress the girls. He's big on family, and he clearly loves children, but he seems fairly content to be wedded to his career for now. It would be a tricky thing to manage in a majority Muslim culture, albeit it one that seems more progressive than some countries in that part of the world. As with so many pop stars in the West, I hope he manages to carve out a space where he can find personal fulfilment away from the business and all its trappings.

What a magnificent performance. This show was organized for the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoy. He must have been so proud to see 3 decades of singers with whom he has collaborated for several years.
