Singers usually don't sing Whitney songs in the original key and low it for their range, but Sohyang RAISED IT instead! It's so impressive that she can belt so high with so much control and no voice cracks and etc! I have no doubt she could perfectly sing Love On Top by Beyoncé and raise like, 6 keys instead of just 4 like Bey does 🤣

David Foster made a tremendous effort to meet her after hearing this song of So Hyang and she performed with him in Japan that year in November at his earnest invitation. David Foster, who performed with So Hyang, said the performance with her was the best and was really happy to meet the incredible and fantastic top singer in the world and perform together. I'm getting a bit up there in age, but in all my years on this earth I have _never_ heard anyone who can sing like So Hyang. Honestly, when you first hear So Hyang sing it is like you have _never_ heard a human woman sing ever before, she is that good! Words get meaningless after a while when trying to give her due praise. It just can't be done, except to sit down and listen to her sing and truly appreciate what you are seeing and hearing. As you said Sam, "She is interplanetary great!"

Very intrigued by your observations of Sohyang's performance. It's very interesting to listen to your observation on the "twangy quacking" sound to help her stay connected in her voice - this is the first time I hear anyone make that comment. Some actually flagged the sound almost as a fault for its nasal tune. It's more educational to hear your comment. BTW, it's quite entertaining to see your face break into a knowing smile during the reaction video. I absolutely love to watch you react to So Hyang. It so clear that her technique is great because you smile so bright when she does something that is technically right with her vocals. You look so proud of her. I watched some of your other reactions (not all of them) but it's something that seems consistent when you watch her. You seem to smile at her good technical choices for her voice. I love, love your reactions videos. @@beyondviolet Sohyang’s high note is good but very thin so it comes out as annoying for some people like me. Also, she can’t pull back, switch register or artistically improvise like Whitney. There is a huge difference on stage live. Whitney was (toxically) obsessed with her ex-boyfriend back then. So this song was filled with raw emotion when Whitney sang it. I don’t really know who was Sohyang singing this song to... God? It just felt like she just wanted to sing this Whitney’s song and impress everyone with high notes.
