That pronunciation of “again” is a very British/British-Caribbean thing. A lot of our African American elders said it that way, too. My grandmother pronounced it “ah-GAIN”

She's amazing. She toured the US following her first album, but you had to know where to find her. If somebody wants another good option for her, please look up the video for her first popular song: Lost and Found. My personal fave of hers is Elusive, but her whole first album is a joy. 😊

Lianne is so insanely talented, and the absolute queen of vocal phrasing & control, even from younger days. - as seen in her live solo performances of 'Forget' for The Line of Best Fit' and The Barn Sessions version of 'No Room For Doubt' (as an aside, they also both show off how great a guitarist she is). BTW the way she sang 'again' is a very British pronunciation ("ah-gayne")!

The vowel modification on "Again" is prob because that's how British people pronounce the word, the "gain" in "again" is pronounced closer to "gain" than "gehn"
