Aina Abdul debuted in 2015 but only received attention nationwide after she released her song Sumpah in 2019. She has won multiple singing competitions. She’s definitely a belter but I would say she is very versatile in her singing. She an amazing storyteller and singer-songwriter that writes about some deep stuff like mental health, domestic violence, self-love, depression and more. I love her songs. Also she’s very experimental. I don’t think she’s in her prime years yet. Some background on her education; she used to learn classical singing for 4-5 years but then chose to pursue a bachelor in contemporary music which she just graduated from this year.

I appreciate the honesty. If there r flaws i really prefer u guys point it out. It is ok, really. There will be some ppl who just want to listen to good stuff only but im sure they will also learn something out of it. I feel that she could hv done better that evening. I saw her other live performances on this song where she sounded better. More in control and relaxed. Here's the thing with AJL performances, the singers are on a massive pressure to perform their best because it is a song competition to celebrate the composer/lyricist..and not to mention AJL is the most watched live performance/competition in the country every year. The responsibility is huge. They only have a few minutes on stage to do justice. All eyes on them. i dont think a lot of ppl can do what they do...Love Aina,she did her best, but i prefer her other performances on this song. Just my personal opinion/preference 😃🙏

Loved this reaction. Aina is a gifted and passionate singer indeed and I'd love you to react to her singing different styles of song. I totally agree that maintaining a more precise technique will serve her much better and preserve her voice much longer for an extended career. Belting is a powerful, emotionally charged technique (I love it!) but it must be mastered by a singer to maximize efficiency while retaining the emotional impact. Power does not have to be dependent on vocal strain though there will be exertion of effort. Your point that the vwork in singing is supposed to be more mental and not physical (especially on the vocal cords) is instructive to me as a very amateur singer (in church band). Enjoyed Melia's hand dancing and the bouts of laughter. You guys are a real team! Keep it up! You're offering something unique in vocal coach channels in your dynamics, analysis, and presentation. Keep doing it and keep sharing bits of your own vocal journeys (once in a long while 😁) You have an audience and it will keep growing with you. 🙌 God bless you! Thanks to rosix for this!❤️ Yup Im agree with both of you about her belt. BUT still she’s working on it till now. She’s indeed can produce a very beautiful and balance sound up to G5. It just she’s not consistently attempt it yet. Sometimes lots of people cant see how she tackle the songs. She can be aggressive and sweet in singing based on the song. This song require emotion changes from sad to mad. I thinks that why she chose to sing that way but in this case she might be tired or nervous for this competition and disturb her placement a bit. I think there is a fine line between belt and ping. Some can do both but rare (Siti Nurhaliza). You sort of need to choose usually either to go for belt or the sharp clarity sound. Aina is great at belting but the sound power and clarity reduce the longer the duration she belts (just like a magic system, it reduces the damage output lol). It is great bit it loses an impact and it can come out to moderate impact (and kinda lackluster). I prefer Aina do belts in short bursts. That has the high 'damage' output I would say so. I dunno, I like variety dynamic range in a song (not always necessarily as I usually listen to song if I want to reminisce and recall any part of my life, like bookmark and my mood). High damage means good lol. Just an analogy for other gamers out there 😅. Gundah by Ernie Zakri that night is just something else.

You forgot to add about the artistic and singing style of the song based on the emotion of the song (there are different emotion for different sections or times of the song). Towards the climax and ending of the song, the mood are 'angry' plus 'dissapointed' ish kinda of emotion.

I personally prefer Aina to utilize her super strong head voice when she goes into the upper register. However, Aina is known to be a belter and that has been her vocal preference all the while. As a fan, or even a viewer in general, we have to respect the singer’s stylistic choice even though we know what works best. I think no matter what singers do on stage, people will hate it or love it anyway.

I think its because she was super tired.Just before this competition started,she were on 3 singing competitions(tv) in a row 😂😂 non-stop and ended up winning 3 of them. 1.Immortal Song 2.Masked Singer 3.Vocal Mania If you listen to her semi-final version you can hear the big differences.Most of her live show are one of the most incredible sound and performance i ever hear. Recently i went to her personal showcase,im telling you the ticket i bought is worthed.I will go to her concert if i ever have the chance..

Hi Guys.. 28 year old Aina is very passionate in music and she is gifted just like Angelina Jordan, Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse.. the reason I say that is because their performances have deep meaning and emotions.. Aina started her singing when she was in high school and won local awards and in 2014, won the Senior Vocalist of the World (WCOPA) in Los Angeles.. she then pursued her studies in music and singing in clubs at night until 2019 and got her Degree in Contemporary Music.. a singer and song writer, she is an Independent Artist and has a small team to help her in producing her own music.. during the pandemic she produces many song covers including her own Official songs on her You Tube Channel and they are outstanding.. I am not a person who is in the music industry. So, I don't really understand the technicality of a performance or the vocal of a singer but, wow your guys honest reaction to every single details & explanation are actually very easy to understand. I can definitely understand & feel the resonance you guys were talking about in the video. I can even see when you guys pointed out that she could do better in certain parts & parts that she was actually doing very well.
