8:31 this is actually him recording for a piano remix of the song “euphoria” and you can watch it and it’s him asking to ad adlibs and try more harmonies and he keeps asking can I try this and that to the producer but it’s nuts bc when he asks he just does it so easily and he’s all over his range adding so much texture and it’s just so cool and think you’d like that to see him doing all that like you did here It’s a short watch but def a lot to talk about vocal coaches usually lose their shit because he’s sittting there kneeling on a chair and singing so effortlessly with the worst posture and on his knees lol

I feel so proud that Jungkook is so talented. His voice is just so unique and everytime he sings he always tries his best, even when he's just sitting down he sings very good! This is one of the reasons he is the main vocalist he is great at controlling his vocals and even when he raps sometimes. He's very talented at such a young age 💜

I'm no vocal teacher but i understand what you guys are saying and even though jungkook and bts members like crazy talented, sometimes to match the concept, the vibes they going for the song, they defo need autotune to give flavour(?) in their song. That's because a singer and a song are 2 totally different concepts. The best example is one can be a talented cook, doesn't mean every dish is worth selling. A singer can be f-ing talented in raw vocals, doesn't mean he can sells raw vocals. A song is a product, you don't sell an unfinished, unpolished produt.

Imagine how tiring it must be to perform every other day and how much money is involved if they loose their voices and have to reimburse the millions of tickets ! I feel like you can only be upset of auto tune when it's an acoustic version of a song, or if the song claims to be raw vocals. Other than that I'm fine with auto tune.

Yes I completely agree about a lot of fans having misconceptions about the usage of auto tune. However I understand why some are so quick to defend bts against it. BTS gets a lot of hate, and a criticism that they're always targeted with is that "they can't sing, they rely on auto tune" (and other variations). Their latest songs were especially criticised because of that. So fans make these videos as a retaliation to show that they can actually sing, and so auto tune has such negative connotations around it. It's almost like to fans, if you point out them using auto tune or any vocal effects, you're insulting them. Obviously this isn't every fan, a lot fans agree that using auto tune doesn't mean you can't sing, more often it's used to create a certain sound that fits the song. But this is why you'll probably still get fans vehemently denying they use auto tune and taking offense until they unlearn the stigmas surrounding it. (This also isn't just a bts/army thing, I see it with a lot of pop mainstream artists, but because of how much hate bts gets for it, I feel it's more prominent amongst their fans.) :)

I don't understand why some fans jump on people who think BTS aren't perfect. I'm sure it wasn't the case here, ofc, like they said using auto tune live is not an unspeakable act or smth. It's not negativity to not like BTS, their vocals or think they don't sing well. I only have problems when people are racist or make fun of them because of them wearing make up, having "girly voices", mocking their struggles and stupid stuff like that. Not liking BTS? That's not hate, it's just how life is. Even if BTS has gotten lots of hate over the years (and they have), it still doesn't excuse jumping on people that make innocuous comments about their music. Not everyone is going to like them or think they are super talented. And that is OK. Some people need to chill because we need honest reactions out of reactors. also ive seen a lot of discussion about playback and lipsyncing in kpop and i think thats also one part that gets fans of any idol who gets accused of lip syncing or using too much playback get really defensive. i think in some way these are also targeted for those accusations, that bts/jungkook dont lipsync or need the full playback even if they sometimes choose to use it on some level. personally thats how ive taken these kind of videos, rather than as a proof of no autotune, bc i believe autotune has its place sometimes.

if you really want to listen to JK's voice, you should listen to him randomly singing when he probably doesn't even realize he's doing it. I also like when he does impromptu singing when he comes on VLIVE (usually a capella but sometimes with a low tech microphone or karaoke mic).

JK practices singing while on the treadmill at BigHit so he can build his endurance and sound good and strong throughout an entire concert. He's a fitness freak so he's already in great physical shape but it's entirely different running around the stage AND trying to sing at the same time. He and Jimin are fanatics about giving as fine a performance as possible for their beloved ARMY and as you can see in some of the concert backstage videos, they come close to a complete breakdown and JK actually collapsed one time and passed out. You don't see it much but they sweat like mad from all the choreography. Imagine doing that for two hours straight and remembering the moves for every song. These guys WORK for their fans and have earned every dollar they have made. Much respect for their dedication. 7 damn fine entertainers.

If you could check out “main vocalist jungkook,” has a lot of him behind the scenes and shows them recording, and some live clips Or maybe “the evolution of jungkooks vocals,” by Ida s is really cool The “jungkook singing on vlive” is the one I’m very interested to hear what you guys have to say bc it’s him without warming up… sitting on a live stream for like 30-45 minutes and singing along to other members songs, some songs he’s done covers for… so some English covers…. But he’s doing it all with no microphone and just taking requests some fans and singing and I really want to know what you think about it like that since it’s all no mic or anything and the songs are very different from each other so I’m curious about the idea of the Korean language and hearing just him on the English covers and what you think about that. I think all the videos are by ida s… definitely a lot of good compiled videos

Hi, I know this was 4 months ago, but I just listened and I wanted to recommend Ida S.'s video, Jungkook, the Main Vocalist of BTS. I think you would really find it interesting about how different members have different roles. He was named the Main Vocalist at 15, was the youngest and knew he wasn't really ready to take on that role. He describes how he worked hard to rise to the title and shows all the other ways he contributes to the total BTS sound. Ida starts out with several vocal coach reactions to him singing, which may put you off, but then she gets into JK's role in BTS. Highly recommend. Everyone is always very surprised and impressed.

He came seoul when he was 13-14 year old and he is known as Golden maknae(youngest in korean=Maknae) because he is good at dancing,rapping and of course singing and he is also good at almost every sport,drawing. Basically everything.Everyone in BTS is great vocalist but I think he is the main vocalist because he can easily harmonize with both rappers and vocal line, his vocals blends easily and even if you don't know lyrics still you can feel emotions in his voice.

He is simply magical. Imagine he was barely 13 when he was signed with his company and debuted as a BTS´s main vocalist at age of 15. There is clarity, expensive resonance and honey like smoothness to his voice but you find there also Granny Smith apple´s crispy, juicy crunch to it. He can sing with great technique, he conveys producer´s vision for each song impeccably, he is emotionally mature, expressive and sublimely on point... so gentle and soothing at times, so heavenly light, and then so intense and passionate. Magical, just magical.

there are a lot of good singers but not so many know harmonies and jungkook is very very good with that. he can shift from alto to tenor then melody within a song without missing a note. usually professional singers do not know this cause they just need to stick to the melody and they have back-up singers

Singing for him just seem extremely natural, like he's not even trying. I think that's what I love about him the most (beside from his tone). He usually just seems very relaxed or drowning in the music, fully focused and flowing on the beat. His voice is my favorite among the group. I said this before, but his voice just makes me feel things I never knew I could feel, almost as if my body physically reacted to it. I'm not educated enough in English to describe the feeling exactly, but I usually get this warm, nice feeling in my chest which you can feel when you're very, very excited, or happy to the point that you're on the verge of tears, or when you experience a sudden wave of love & happiness by watching someone/something that you really like. And I honestly think that's what you, as a vocalist, should aim for with your voice - to be able to move people, make them feel things. The fact that Jungkook is also such a kind-hearted, positive, nice person takes this on a whole other level. You can tell music is his passion and he loves singing more than anything. All the other boys in BTS are of course very talented, too. Please, don't think that by praising JK I'm bringing the others down. I love them all, but it's natural for everyone to like/prefer something different. This is only my opinion and how I feel things 💜 I hope they will react to the others separately as well, I would really enjoy the vocal breakdown.

As a voice coach, I can relate to what you're saying because, despite the fact that Jungkook and the other BTS members are insanely gifted, there are times when the theme or mood of the song calls for autotune. I adore the way you people analyse his singing, so keep posting your BTS reactions! And if certain armies criticise you, ignore them because they don't even know how to respect different points of view and won't even offer an explanation for why you and your team have the "wrong" opinion.

theres actually more clips of jungkook now just singing and covering random songs (acapella or at least without backtrack) because he's been going on livestreams more frequently the past year.. you should check those out and kinda see a bit of his improvement !!

I love that you talked about the fact that autotune is sometimes used for the sound affect, not necessarily for voice correction. We should realize that we are so used to the affect it gives to the sound that we subconsciously miss it when it's not there. Great reactions, don't change!

It would be great if you could see and react to Jungkook´s "private" vlive mini concerts :-) He is the only member of BTS who occasionally surprises us by suddenly coming online, plugging into vlive app, starting taking requests from online fans who watch and sing his heart out - always impromptu, unrehearsed, fully live, sometimes a capella. Its´just his raw astoundingly great smooth vocals, mindbogglingly solid confidence to go for it un-bashfully while the whole world is watching, always having ton of fun. He even needs to check lyrics on his screen while he is at it, as some of the songs are not that familiar to him :-)The last time he did that ( three weeks ago),he started streaming at 01:00 Korean time while majority of Asia was sleeping and yet he accumulated 13 million of real time viewers. It was such a great experience - a live FREE over 1 hr long concert for his fans. He covered some of English songs that have been charting recently ( Stay by Kid Laroi, Peaches by JB, Leave the door open.... ) but majority of it was BTS own discography, and he improvised, sang other members parts too ( and rapped), did sporadic spontaneous changes to songs´arrangements.... an insane amount of talent and feel for his craft:-) It would be such a great material for you to see and ponder over....

I love how you guys are explaining auto tune so well because I agree, I think some people take it too negatively when really, most of the times you hear autotune, it's for effect. There's such an aversion to it to the point where if someone even implies that autotune is used, it's taken as an insult when it shouldn't be. I do enjoy listening to the raw live vocals because it shows you more of the quality and tone of their voices, but them (and anyone else for that matter) using autotune shouldn't be so demonized. I know why people get so defensive about it, and honestly I have those moments too when a reactor dismisses their abilities out of pocket because they think they hear autotune, but I hope that through people like you guys explaining it so readily, more people will come to realize that autotune is truly just another tool, rather than an indicator of someone's capabilities

Just to give some context, the clip where he is recording with the headphones on and seems to be working out the song notes he’s actually figuring out the harmony for the song. JK sings all the guide tracks for all their songs before they record. If you see the full scene of that clip the producer has him sing the melody and then tells him to sing a harmony and he just works it out in his head and sings.
