Yay my favorite consonant! In French and English [ ɮ ] together with [ ɬ ] can be used in a humoristic way as a substition of s/z when you want to imitate a goofy character ; really dumb or really hungry or both.

Very common feature of Mongolian language. In fact, basic level of communication would be quite hard if you can't pronounce this sound. Thank you in Mongolian is Баярлалаа(Bayarlalaa, bajərɮa). Tried teaching how to pronounce this word to hundreds of people and haven't seen one successfully pull this off yet.

Thanks, I was looking for this symbol. This is the sound we used to pronounce when saying the LL in some Spanish countries. This sound is slowly being forgotten, we are using the /dʒ/ instead

No particular reason. Sounds in languages are arbitrary. Of course you can track where they come from and all but they don´t have an essential meaning

Yeah no. That's a consonant cluster. You have to put your tongue in the position where you'd pronounce "l" (lateral) and then exhale while you vocal cords vibrate, voicing it.
