I am putting in a 1970 11stop reuter organ with a 32' octave in my home on the rio grande. Have been collecting sounds for decades that are in a half acre riparian garden with fountains that play gongs and such with water. There was a wood splitting station before I saw your earlier vids!! Seeing this live in a few days at st john in abq that also has a reuter organ. I am hoarding instruments for the apocalypse. Come by anytime but don't miss the full moon percussion parties! Last time I was this anxious about a concert was queen in 80 and 82.

Noise for some, but perfect evocation for others. It's like poetry. It means whatever it makes you think.

The sound of the instruments dominate the hall, stealing the voices of the mass. The liner notes describe how those in power never cede it to subordinates. That it is in a church, and was commissioned by one is all the more powerful considering it exists as a criticism of those ancient idealogical power structures, i think.

Can someone please explain how this piece received the same prize as Kendrick Lamar's Damn album? I have studied music theory but I.... Just don't get this. It does seem to be appealing to some people and those are the people im asking to chime in, please.

Yet another example of why it's probably been 80 years since a Pulitzer Prize Winning piece of noice has had any relevance.
