I've been watching her for a long time. I live in Texas and decided to spent a few days in New Orleans a few weeks ago. I left the hotel for a walk with my wife and we heard a beautiful clarinet playing far away. I couldn't bear the tears when I finally notice that I was watching her in front of me. Thanks Doreen for this such memorable moment that will be in my heart forever!

Wonderful, wonderful Doreen Kechens! Been following her on KZbin for about 6 years now. She is THE clarinetist of the world right now. (for me) Best I’ve heard and what a gift she has! My surprise is seeing her play in very familiar hall. As the camera pulled back, I thought, “That sure looks like Bates.” And it is! I spent many hours/days of my life in that hall - not only as a music student but as a musician, a UT School of Music staff member, an audience member, etc. Great memories! And now, to see a little of Ms. Kechens there is so great! How lucky the audience was to experience her music. Look for her/her band in New Orleans on Royal St.
