Great video as always! I wish in the future you’d cover shoulder toproll (idk what is it called), the toproll that is performed attacking the wrist, you lean down the table and lie behind your arm low, and at the ready-go you aim to pounce on his wrist to bend it. That’ll be a great video to give tips upon.

What is the difference between a tricep hook and a shoulder roll?

I would say If shoulder roll fails you lose you hand and have less options. Triceps hook is going into movement by pressing inward with triceps.

Why transition from toproll to press. Just start with the dead wrist press and its all good. No need to train hook or toproll if you say your press is good. Focus on that.

It's way harder than it sounds. Your hand can't touch your shoulder at any point or it's a foul. You have to have super strong triceps to be able to press someone down
@nvmffs4 жыл бұрын
@@rainyriderr1112 True but isn't the triceps much stronger than the biceps? I always thought it's pretty hard to defend against it but it never occurred to me it's hard to execute. I'm not even sure the triceps plays a huge rule at the point when you're fully behind your hand. You're pressing down with your bodyweight and essentially just resting on top of your opponent's biceps. Even if they're super strong your path to the opposite pad is blocked, how are you supposed to win? You'll be forced to commit an elbow foul if you try to get around that shoulder.
@rainyriderr11124 жыл бұрын
@@nvmffs The triceps tends to be stronger, however it also means you have to get on top of someone. Risk for breaking your arm is way higher too. I'm an inside presser and there's a huge amount of risk to breaking your humerus bone. The triceps play a huge part because if the person you're pulling against can pull you into your shoulder, it's a foul for you. When you look at his press, you have to consider that if someone pulled you fast or hard enough, he could make the presser foul. The path isn't blocked necessarily, the person's frame is just in the way. People can definitely be rolled over if you do it right. Pressing is also weak if the user has weaker pronation, if the other person can keep his wrist up, pressing is super difficult to close out. Hope this helps a bit
