I think my favourite is his solo part from their "Running Up That Hill" cover. It's relatively long for a solo part of his and I was ecstatic when I heard they gave him that spotlight right there, while still providing those ethereal harmonies around him. I also love that one he made for Doris with the low "an absolute disgrace" really shows how versatile his voice is!

I definitely would love to hear more of Layne's singing. Even when he is blending his voice with the others', his contribution adds a balance that completes Voice Play's sound. Another adjective I would add to the list is "poignant."

Interesting. His voice is placed more to the front of the mouth and has a ping. Also it has a soft, floating quality. He doesn’t appear to be a belter. He’s one of those light, bright, and airy singers. Nice!

Layne's singing comes in two flavors: most hilarious part of the song, or the lines that melt everyone's heart. Just yesterday I was listening to an acapella playlist on Spotify and... I dunno, I just froze, melted, and had to quickly check my phone who this was. It was an older song, I didn't recognize it right away, but sure enough it was Layne's rare singing line that just caught me off guard and melted me on the spot.

Layne's voice truly is heart melting. It's so emotionally vulnerable, so sweet and tender. Yet he can twist it into the most hilarious and funny character voices, and sing anything from bass to tenor. He's so versatile. I'm so happy we have managed to get through to them just how much we love when Layne sings, he seems to have little solo parts more often lately! ❤❤❤

I am not the biggest fan of VP but Layne has such an amazing voice. I thought Adam Rupp (the beatboxer of Home Free) had a good voice but Layne just blows Adam out of the water! No offense to any of my fellow Home Fries but I just love Layne's voice 😍

Layne has a really beautiful voice🥰. Layne probably has a bit more training and practice in singing than Adam does, as Adam started the beatboxing very early on, while Layne was the group's baritone for 6-7 years before switching to percussion. Adam does sound really good as well though, love hearing him sing! 😃

Geoff gets a lot more small solo parts than Layne does, but I agree, I absolutely love hearing those two sing together or have solo parts. Their voices actually blend amazingly! I'm glad we're getting more little solo bits from Layne these past couple of years, I absolutely adore that man's voice. Now whether that is because we fans keep asking for more of it, or if it's because Layne himself is getting more comfortable singing, I don't know. All I know is, every time I hear that man sing, it fills my heart with joy 🥰🥰

You can barely tell Layne and Geoff but Earl was a skinny Minny. At first I couldn't tell who was who until Layne did a funny move. Then I said... Yep. That's Layne.
