Cesar was asked yesterday if it was him doing the high notes there, he said it was. Omar is his best friend. Mortius was doing his reaction and had Cesar on camera with him for the 50 minutes they were doing his reaction. It might be something you would like to see that since there was a lot of back and forth.

I believe the sound Layne makes is to represent critters scurrying around in an old, rundown, vacant building as they usually do. I think this song is kind of a continuation of the " Warriors " song.
@christinestromberg40572 жыл бұрын
The original song was a hard rock song but VoicePlay have given it a more haunting sound, concentrating on the words. They see this as a follow up to Warriors with a post apocalyptic atmosphere. The past is gone. We think it's Cesar and Omar going high together with Eli harmonising below. And nobody knows how Layne does the "helicopter" sound.

I wish I could think of it as a helicopter sound. And I can see how a person with associated with that sound. And ever since then that’s all I can think of when I hear that!

Dream On was released in 1973. Was Aerosmith's biggest hit. As far as I know, it wasn't attached to a movie or anything. Voiceplay is emulating Steven Tyler's voice as well as the original Metal instrumentation.

Have you noticed that Layne has been bringing some kind of new, different percussion sound the last several videos? There was that whomp whomp whomp noise in Dragonborn that had everybody scratching their heads (I hear it here, too), then his sound of falling sand and that ending in Bruno… it’s been going on awhile. It seems like everybody in the group has really been drilling down and working hard to bring us something new and exciting every time. Also, none of these guys were ever anything but great singers, but it seems to me that all of them have really worked on vocal technique this last year. Great reaction-I like the way you noticed things about the film editing. It’s always so interesting to get insights into everything that goes into videos like these.

The building is Eli's old school (the past) the writing on the stairwell wall behind Caesar speaks to the present and future. EVERYTHING within their pieces is well thought out and multi layered. As an afterthought - watch their 2020 live performance of ELVIRA to see their pure enjoyment when performing and the end of the song clearly demonstrates Goeff's high/low range and will leave you with a smile .

This is really reminiscent of the set of Warriors. I’ve gathered from the comments of some people who are in their live chats, that Geoff said that in Warriors, the zombies came and they whisked Earl and J away. They found Cesar and Omar wandering around and gathered them into their band and they’re ready to battle again. This is hearsay, but it makes a lot of sense. And it really plays into the whole post apocalyptic thing. Maybe this is after Hillbillies 👨🏽🌾 vs Zombies…🧟♂️hmmmmm…🤔

This was an awesome cover. I love how they slowed it down a bit from the original and made it seem more nostalgic. What I didn't like about this song when Aerosmith did it was all the guys trying to hit that Tyler scream and failing miserably. VP did it in harmony! You'll have to listen to the original. It's Cesar AND Omar going that high. Geoff has been killing it this year, and last year, and his new solo that should be out either tomorrow or Sunday will really blow your mind. Really enjoy your reactions to Voiceplay and Geoff. There is a difference of opinion in the Voiceplay reactor and fan world about those high notes. I know Eli can hit them, and I know that Omar can. Eli was goofing off in the behind-the-scenes video doing them. The only thing Voiceplay said specifically was that it was painful. The highest note was a G#5. My personal uneducated opinion is that Eli and Omar were both on the highest note with Cesar doing the harmony (also incredibly high for him). I'm very old so missed this song originally, so had no idea what I was getting into. I went back after and listened to the original. Voiceplay's version is better, in my opinoin, because the lyrics are clearer and sung with more feeling. Geoff has a new one dropping in a couple of days, be prepared. 😉

It definately was Omar and Ceasar doing the super high part, if you listen closely you can hear Eli's rock tenor underneith. These guys are masters. Also while Adam "freak of nature" Rupp is basically a human drum kit and has an arsenal of real instrument sounds, like the dang harmonica. Layne is a master of adding really crazy almost synthetic sounds as well as the normal ones. And the song itself was done by Aerosmith.

By the way, if you haven’t heard the original you really, REALLY should. There’s a much cleaner version (the official audio-also on KZbin) that still plays on the radio on classic rock stations, but despite the fact that Steven Tyler’s voice isn’t at it’s best in this live concert version, there’s something glorious about a live rock performance. Woodstock ‘94. Tyler was actually in the audience in the first, infamous, Woodstock, 1969-just before Aerosmith formed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3TKZoqVo6ihn7c

Others have mentioned Aerosmith, so I won't repeat it. :) HOWEVER...when this was first released, those of us familiar with the song only wondered one thing really: Which of the three tenors would sing the super-high part? We didn't know the answer would be "yes." :)

This video is seen as the continuation of the story portrayed in their video Warriors, the Imagine Dragons cover. Please check that one out if you haven't yet. The apocalypse has happened; Earl and j. None have been taken by the zombies and the guys have picked up Omar and Cesar along the way. It's filmed in an abandoned school that one of the guys used to attend -- Eli or Layne? I forget which. As to the song itself; probably Aerosmith's biggest hit. I think it's seen by many as a rite of passage for singers to hit that high Steven Tyler scream/note just right. I think these guys did it right.
