LOVED the intro! And those lights, so cool! Great reaction & analysis😃

The reason I listen to a bunch of different reactors is that each one brings something different to the table. I had never noticed before that the bat at the beginning is making the note basically that Geoff is hitting just however many octaves up! What a great observation. 😊 Also you were asking if Layne made the sound of the gun cocking and the shell dropping. I would assume that Layne did it, but then again Geoff is the one who taught Layne originally how to beatbox, so it's possible that Geoff did it. (And by the way, I loved watching you snap your fingers and turn off the lights at the end. That was cool!)

Daniel: You have an amazing ability to pick details out of the background of a performance and highlight them. It really helps me appreciate the talent, planning, skill, and care the Voice Play team brings to their performances. Thanks!

Always enjoy your reaction and anaysis! My favorite moment in this piece was that insane high riff that Anthony (gar JOO la) did and the hand off to Eli. I hope you plan a reaction to their cover of In the Air Tonight. It is also jaw dropping!!

Eli at the end is tired from the fighting of everyone who is giving him flack but will continue the fight. The trading off between Eli and Anthony was slick. So smooth!

Make the sweat drop from every pore but Layne uses the sound instead of the word.

The background hums in the beginning were ascending which the hums at the end were descending. Also Eli sounds fresh and ready in the opening verse but tired out in the ending verse like a 7 nation army hadn't held him back. Great reaction!

The melodic sound you thought was Layne, was actually Cesar. It was asked who did that part in a chat last night. I am always amazed at all of them in what they can do with their voices. I keep thinking they can't surprise us any more and then the next song comes out. lol Enjoyed the reaction/analysis! Thanks!

They keep tackling these huge iconic songs and just killing them. I knew Geoff was going to take that bass guitar part and own it, but Eli and Anthony trading off the high lead was amazing. Sassy Cesar is always awesome but.....LAYNE!! He's really off the rails lately. Gotta give credit to Ed Boyer for his insane mixing skills--he just adds the exclamation point on VP's perfection. Last night's Patreon release was another one and Anthony was with them again. These guys are going to kill me.

Very cool intro! Love the snap-on/snap-off lights. That's a creative way to start and end the video. "Gɑːr-dʒu-lä" - Hopefully that's correct IPA, someone else had to tell me how to pronounce his name. I'm not great at names either. I swear, Layne sings like an angel... and then suddenly these demon sounds crawl out his throat, haha!

Something that I haven't heard any reactors point out is how high Anthony goes during the pass-off to Eli. Its insanely high for a tenor Edit: Yes! You did talk about it a bit! If I'm not mistaken, he goes from an E5 to a B5 in a fast riff!

Loved that intro. I think the other song is Dream On. I was not familiar with either of these songs except for the iconic riffs, but I love the VP versions. It probably has something to do with my percussion obsession. I find that I enjoy their more "stompy" ones much more than the quiet ones. Always enjoy your analysis and always hear something I hadn't noticed before.

The most obvious entrance is Cesar but each of the 5 made a different entrance and the video cuts each of those entrances into about 4 segments that are interspersed throughout the video. The nonworking escalator was the first one that made me catch on to the others. I don't know why they did it that way but it was a pretty good puzzle that took me a few tries to get what was happening there. I love having you react/analyze VoicePlay. I know you've got a lot of stuff in your future but please make a slot or two for us when you're in the university. Love for you to do In the Air Tonight, Wicked, We're Good.

Have you done VPs Creep yet? Eli had the responsibility for this project. Layne and Geoff have been alternating on the project, each have a month to get it together. Now, Eli will be taking a turn now as well.

I THINK (don't quote me on this) I heard somewhere that the gun-cocking sound effect was performed vocally, but the shell-casing hitting the ground was added in post. Similarly, the big heavy door creak in "Valhalla Calling" was also done by Layne. The madman. XD

I DO love your singing/beatboxing along! Helps very clearly to hear & to understand, what's going on...thanks a lot!!🎉😊❤ AND I still don't know if Layne did that finger gun sounds or if it was added in post production... 🤔 What do you think??
@karenponchak5304 Жыл бұрын
Well the shell was definitely done in post. My question is was it Layne or Geoff that did the gun sound. 🤔 They undeniably blurred the lines between bass and percussion on this one.

Another reactor accused Layne of being a transformer on that first thing you hear from him here. Dude wasn’t wrong. Now every time I play this, I hear that riff and I half expect to also hear “Auto bots, roll out!” 😝
