I'm with you on that bit by Eli. Yeah, I can hit that in head voice, certainly not in chest with some vocal fry added in. Geoff gets a lot of the attention, but I've been more amazed by Eli's singing for a while. I thought he was phenomenal a year ago. Then he just keeps getting better by leaps and bounds. I'd love it if he did some solo work like Geoff does.

Two of my favorite things in this song were Geoff's bass line sliding right into Layne's throat bass and Anthony's high riff up to Eli continuing it at the high note at the end (the oooooo, rip it off). Loved your reaction! Sorry the heat is crazy. Hopefully you can get your AC fixed soon!

I think you need to have someone ride in the room when you’re recording this to help you out by hitting your con-alt-del. 😁 Anthony blindsided you perfectly, lol. You figured you knew all the punches they were gonna pull, closed your eyes and started grooving and BAM. You’re so used to Geoff being the brain breaker that you’d forgotten to watch out for the tenors. 😂 I loved the way they slid the lead from Anthony to Eli where Eli came in on the same note. Don’t know why that hit me as so cool but it did. Others have said it; I’m going to say it. You need to react to their new short “Peaches”. It’s from the Mario movie. You need to sit down for it. I won’t spoil it, I hope no one does, but it’s not Geoff’s bass that’s gonna drop you in this one. Everybody gets a good chunk and that’s all Im saying. 😊

I've heard that Geoff used to be both bass and beatboxer for their group and taught Layne how, who then perfected it to the level he's at now. I keep saying it but I really do think that VP are aliens - how else could they possibly make such unearthly sounds?? 😵‍💫 Obviously there's some effects added to their voices during production but even so....... 🤷‍♀The last few videos in particular from them they just keep raising the bar! Apparently Layne was using an inward breath bass technique quite a bit in this and he can get as low as Geoff by using it. Someone somewhere said there seemed to have been a bit of blending of the pair of them going on for lows and vocal perc - I have no musical knowledge (other than knowing what I like!) so I have no idea if that's correct. Whatever was going on this was a fabulous offering from the guys. I'm not a fan of The White Stripes or this song generally but I love this; the highs, the lows, the vocal perc, the runs from Anthony and the sass from Cesar - what an awesome combination! Hope you get your air con sorted soon and things become a bit more bearable for you.

It took me several tries to understand what I was seeing. Each fellow came in via a specific route. The cameras pick them up but then they split those entrances into 3 or 4 pieces (Cesar starts low on the escalator, next view of that picks up where it left off, and so on. Each of the guys had the same type of pieces.) It was easiest to see on Cesar's progress up the escalator. Layne was doing things with what he found on the floor - against a wall, throwing the pipe. I also saw you singing in the VoicePlay Appreciation Project giving VoicePlay a tribute to Just Sing. I wanted to know how you got Cesar's shirt!

I just recently found you thru your work survival notebook video, so nice to see a new video from you! I’ve used a hobonichi aven myself for 3 years, as I also like to do things sequentialy and have the overview of tasks. I find that there isn’t really enough space in weekly columns, se recently switched to a Take A note A5 hourly weekly on 4 pages, so each day has half a page. Also means there is enough space, so I don’t need the dailies. Maybe its something that could suit you aswell? Not much space for photos though. What do you do with tasks that needs to be done on a future day, but you know that there will be other to dos mixed in between? I struggle with what to do with those, as I want them organized in the order that I need to do them. Hope it makes sense 😅

I think I a) have watched this video on quick-turnaround repeat more than any other VP song, and b) also watched a wider variety of reactors reacting to it than any other. The low sounds are completely real, and can be replicated in person. There are some crazy bass techniques out there that can do wild things with your voice! As far as the other aspects though, I’m honestly not sure what the extent of post production was on this particular piece.

Mortius, did you ever watch Elizabeth Zharoff's, Charismatic Voice interview with Laine? The interview happened back when the light at the top end of the rabbit hole was still visible. Laine gave Liz and the viewers a tour of his electronic/software suite and what it could do for post production work. I've got a sneaking suspicion he's modifying and layering like mad in a few key spots in this song.
