I'm guessing KZbin's algorithm presented me with one of your videos because the majority of my recent watches are Voiceplay. I am SO glad it did! I love the way you explain the music, and not just the structure, with your explanations on the different chords and pitch, but also how you highlight particular rhythms and often point out things being sung in the background that I've completely missed! It's given me a whole new appreciation of music, especially Voiceplay's! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Your ability to simultaneously discern exact notes, cords, rhythms, and lyrics while deciphering the layered harmonies and visuals leave me absolutely gobsmacked. I’ve listened to this video over ten times, yet your acute ear and expert training has, yet again, deepened my appreciation. Profound gratitude.

I was 12 years old when this video came out. Back when MTV meant Music Television and not pregnant teenagers. I remember laying on my living room floor talking to my friend on the landline while watching the debut. It had everything. Music, dancing, zombies...oh, and Michael Jackson! :D Geoff had some big shoes to fill doing Vincent Price's part in this video and I really like how they changed it up a bit as they always do. Thanks, again, for another informative video. I learn so much!

As a lay-person (musically) it struck me how difficult it must have been for them to arrange... apparently it was on the shelf for a while because they were aware they had to get it right. They had to 1) pay homage, 2) still make it their own, 3) make it much shorter but carry the essence (as you said: iconic song!) 4) do it acapella and 5) make sure it translates well to a video! They spent 13+ hours working hard to get this video out to us. They are such a wonderful and talented bunch! Thank you muchly for your great insights (as per usual). Appreciated! 🧟♂️🌹🕊

Glad you were able to react to this so quickly! A number of reactors I follow regularly haven't been able to get to it yet, but I always look forward to your analysis and reactions. FYI: Since J. None was involved in this video, it was pretty much a given that Layne would have a carrot around somewhere - he really enjoys annoying J with that vegetable! Also, VoicePlay is being considered for Grammy nominations for 2 different songs - the Michael Jackson cover they did for The Way You Make Me Feel featuring DeeJay Young, and Hellfire featuring J. None - both for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella, and The Way You Make Me Feel is also being considered for Best Traditional R&B Performance!

Oh golly gosh, my friend has just died. 🧟♂🤣🤣 I think this video feels like VoicePlay creating a video, kind of meta feeling, and they've asked J to come back and collab. Then all these hijinks start to ensue while they're trying to film, and I feel like this is how J himself would react. They always joke around with each other, and I can just hear J...oh my gosh y'all are so weird, why did I agree to do this again? 😆 A few reactors have mentioned that opening second chord, so it clearly is an attention getter.
