We were blessed in the Maghreb with the presence of the family of the Prophet after the Aliwiyyin alongside the Abbasiyyin overthrew the Umawiyyin, then the Abbasiyyin began to murder the Aliwiyyin in order to keep the power of rule. It was then that Idriss the first escaped to the Maghreb and established a separate state. He was later poisoned by the Abbasiyyin but his son (the half Arab, half Amazigh) took power and continued his reign over the region which spanned Morocco and nowadays Algeria which was a part of Morocco at the time.
