If you see a gas station you must take a picture, it's a rule of photography I think...

I've just bought a used one. And am excited to try it out for the first time. 😊 How many frames per battery can you shoot? What's your experience. As I've read on various pages, the battery for it is PX625A. Is this correct? Thanks for info 🤗

Yes that is correct!:)

Great shots - especially I like the Ektar100 pics - which lens did you use?
@intuitiveshutter72713 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot ! Most of the shots were Super Takumar 50mm 1.4 or Quantaray 24mm 2.8 for the wider ones, both lenses are M42 mount types :)

Question: how does this compare to the Bessa? Or rather, what would be the closest equivalent to this camera from a well known brand/brands? Just so I can compare.

Hello, great video what was your settings for the last Ektar100 picture? Looks so good! I would like to try something similar as well. Thanks

Thanks a lot ! I would be able to tell you the exact settings for the Ekatar Shots but as it's a slower film it tends to need more light which means either smaller aperture or slower shutter speed :)

No, they are very old cameras now, they were not that great when they were new either. If you want access to the lens system which was ok but generally not as good as say Olympus or Nikon, then I would say go for the VSL3 or Rollei SL35E (almost identical cameras), they are a little younger and far far better cameras. However, I would recommend the Nikon F90X which is a significantly younger camera and far better featured, that is to say fairly modern. It is better made and will cost you a lot less.

The VSL1 was dead by Aug 1979. Rollei-Werke Franke & Heidecke the original Rollei company was dead in 1981. Rollei Fototechnic was formed and manufactured the Rolleiflex 2000f and the Rolleiflex 3000 series until they ran out of stock of shutters that had been made in the old Singapore factory before the collapse of Rollei-Werke Franke & Heidecke. Rollei Fototechnic did not last long and there have been a couple of companies after that. The 42mm screw mount version of the VSL1 was dead by the end of 1976, just a little over two years from its launch. Production of the QBM version started at the end of 1975. The M42 mount is not that useful as the indexation only works properly with genuine Voigtlander / Rollei lenses so no open aperture metering with third party lenses. The genuine Voigtlander / Rollei M42 lenses are as rare as rocking horse manure. I note you said the meter did not work on your example, this is probably why you did not mention the issue with third party lenses. The QBM lenses are much more common and Tamron and others made QBM lenses also that metered correctly at full aperture. So the BM version is much superior. Your comment about it being super reliable is somewhat funny considering the light meter on your camera does not work. These cameras, VSL1 and VSL2 and their Rollei siblings were very unreliable as was the VSL3E and Rollei SL35E. I know, I have had lots of experience with camera failure with them when they were new. Do not think I have a down on these cameras, I have a Voigtlander VSL3 and two Rollei sL35E's which I love, but I also have a Nikon just in case.
