Great. I have a doubt, so the Nokton 40mm automatically sets the 35mm frame lines in an M6? Or it triggers 50mm frame lines? Thanks,
@filmbox39572 жыл бұрын
If I’m not mistaking I think it’s the 50mm lines it triggers. It’s been forever since I shot with it so I forgot haha

They trigger the 50’s.

Stoked for this channel! One recommendation would be to make the sample images larger!

Loved the review! Wish they really made more lenses like this for the Nikon mount so I could use on the pocket 4K with speedbooster

Thank you for watching! And that’s True! That would be amazing if they did! It would be such a compact set up for video !

There is a Voigtlander 40mm f2 F mount lens styled like the old Nikkor lenses

Nice video. Is this mould for the finger for focusing fixed on the lense or are you able to change the position of it?

Now be honest... Image quality from the Leica and Sony are almost identical, right? 3:17

Honestly if the lack of 40mm frame likes bothers someone because of framing accuracy then maybe a Leica is not for you, get a F3 maybe. I have this on a M3 and if I want something to be in my shot I just make sure it's in the 50mm lines.

I agree Leica really isn’t for me. I have trouble focusing it anyways since I have goof sight. I may just sell it and get the Sony fx3 to make more videos since the Leica has been sitting on my desk for 2 years now.

Quality video! We’re both starting out! I really enjoyed this! I think I’m going to move from the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.2 to this. Mainly for its compact size! As the Nokton is way too big! Keep it up! Awesome stuff!

Good effort, very enjoyable and informative. Tiny point of constructive criticism, it would have been nice to have larger views of the lovely film shots, less white border, more great shots... oh and you need an analogue watch to fit with the Leica

Dooooooope lens and great review! I’m thinking of getting this and popping on the Z cam, curious to see how it’ll look as a cinema lens...

Yes you can, absolutely ..... with an LM to Fuji X adaptor. My Voigtlander Nokton Classic 40mm F1.4 MC is glued to my XT4 actually. 👍

You may be new to YT but your style is good. However, when putting pix on the screen (which mean nothing at all because of YT compression) you should make the RAW files (or scans) available via a link. Then people can play with them to see what they really look like. But I'd encourage you to continue and I'm sure you'll quickly build a following (as long as you don't follow the same schtick as most reviewers (think out of the box)). Have fun...

Hi from Japan! I’m actually considering buying the lens to shoot 35mm film on my Nikon FM3A. I’ve been looking at reviews and noticed that the lens provides a quite bit of vignette, which I thought a little unfortunate. But then I came across to your review and saw the shots from M6 don’t really have that black points in four corners while it still appears on the shots from A7. Is that because the Leica does its magic or you just cropped it when scanning? Or is it more like, the vignette goes away from certain f stop? I’d totally appreciate it if you’d share the secret! Thank you:-) PS Thanks for an awesome review. Honestly the best review of the lens out of any other ones I found on Internet. Subscribed!

Hi! Thank you for watching! So i noticed the vignette goes away the smaller your f -stop! It does have very strong vignette at f1.4 but decreases as you’re closing the aperture. I don’t know why but I do see it is more noticeable on my Sony alpha camera than when I shoot with film.

When ever I see Leica fanboys and the images they made with it, I am proven right time and time again that there is no need at all to waste so much money of an in no way superior camera. Especially analog. This thing does NOTHING that a used 50-100 bucks analog cam wouldn't do. The superior Voigtlander lenses you can get for most of the old analog mounts, so there is not even a need for Zeiss glass which in my opinion is in no way superior to the Voigtlanders. Leica is a nonsensical status symbol just like having a Mac or an iPhone. If you spend this much on an item like that, it is not "cool"/"hip" or shows that you actually "have" money (especially if you beg for a sponsorship in your video) - it only shows that you were dumb enough to fall into the branding trap and that you aim for trivial things in life to satisfy your ego.
