Vol 13 - Old Barnsley In Colour

This has been my favourite so far (going through them numerically). I'm old enough to just remember the Alhambra being built, but can't remember what was there before it. The shot of the roundabout looking down Harbour Hill with the old Theatre at the top and the road still running straight into the town centre is unreal. Just couldn't picture what is was like before.

What would be good would be to put in a picture of how it looks today. In cases where a road may have demolished then that's where imagination comes in.

I think its more fun for the viewer to go on Google earth and search for where the picture is and how it looks now. After saying that I do add a "Now" shot in the Facebook group :)

I was thinking more for the elderly, I was showing my mum this and its good for her to see what it was like before as it brings back memories, usually I show her using the youtube from the tv so I cant hop on google and show her the modern day. I know its more work but I do think its a nice touch and completes it.@@oldbarnsleyincolour
