In this episode, after a paralyzed Melinda West regains the ability to walk, the recently widowed Ida Mallory asks Melinda’s doctor if the same “water of faith” he gave Melinda can help Ida regain the use of her own hands.

CBS Radio MYSTERY THEATRE is a radio drama series created and directed by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982. Later in the early 2000s the show was repeated by the NPR satellite feed.
The format was similar to that of classic old time radio shows like The Mysterious Traveler and The Whistler, in that the episodes were introduced by host E. G. Marshall who provided pithy wisdom and commentary throughout. Unlike the hosts of those earlier programs, Marshall is fully mortal, merely someone whose heightened insight and erudition plunge the listener into the world of the macabre.
CBS Radio MYSTERY THEATRE was broadcast each weeknight, at first with a new program each night. Later in the run, three or four episodes were new originals each week, and the remainder repeats. There were 1,399 original episodes.

My age 70yr old I used to listen to horror stories on the radio as a boy when I was in bed when my parents thought I was sleeping now I have started listening again

I will forever remember, as a kid those dark nights ,with my family in our coal patch cabin ,deep in the woods of Appalachia in Schuylkill county . We listened to radio at night by firelight on our tombstone radio. Outside our cabin the wind and rain peppered the dark night sky as coyotes howled. We were warm .snug and safe huddled together keeping warm by a an old coal stove . Dad died that December by a rock fall way down in the mine. That was a very sad Christmas for my smaller family now. Summer came and the coal company evicted mom, sis and I. We moved away to the city where mom took a job in a munitions factory. Grandma joined us in our new home. She watched us while mom went to work. That Fall I started school with all new friends. It was very exciting. The family was sad but moved on. Mom never remarried.

I had Alfred Hitchcock albums & would take my portable record player into my walk-in closet & listen to him narrate his spooky tales! It was cool and I was probably 11 or 12 yrs old 🤣

Both Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller had the opportunity to treat us all to hear their dramatic skills in two different episodes.. Producer Hy Brown failed to pair them in what could have been one of the series best spine-tingling stories. What was he thinking? It's a real loss for radio drama!
