--------------------
CBS Radio MYSTERY THEATRE is a radio drama series created and directed by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982. Later in the early 2000s the show was repeated by the NPR satellite feed.
The format was similar to that of classic old time radio shows like The Mysterious Traveler and The Whistler, in that the episodes were introduced by host E. G. Marshall who provided pithy wisdom and commentary throughout. Unlike the hosts of those earlier programs, Marshall is fully mortal, merely someone whose heightened insight and erudition plunge the listener into the world of the macabre.
CBS Radio MYSTERY THEATRE was broadcast each weeknight, at first with a new program each night. Later in the run, three or four episodes were new originals each week, and the remainder repeats. There were 1,399 original episodes.

Wave of Terror made me cry. Having a vacation home on the Big Island where this was set, I understand the beliefs and pride of the people. I have come to share in many of their beliefs...living on the lava, being surrounded by the Spirit of Pele changes a person. It's something I can't explain. 💜

I've spent years in Haïti. Can you imagine what beliefs I encountered? So many travelers commit the sin of insulting their hosts with their superior ways of believing, but won't make the effort to listen to what they have to say. And no, they are not all "Ugly Americans".

The story of Eberhard and his angel wings and the 7 Deadly Sins with the late, great actor Hans Conreid really cracked me up. 😂🤣 I've always loved Hans, and this OTR drama with he and his wife Mabel at the helm was hilarious! 🤣😂 There was no way sleep was going to take over mind on this little treasure! For once, thank goodness for my insomnia. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks again, Spellbinders. You are so very much appreciated, dear sir. 💐🤗😘
