3:57 - What about the motor scooter rider crossing over the "pedestrian" crossing (while riding the motor scooter) now, that's cheeky!! Another great set of clips & well done to your pupils for dealing with all the impatient drivers!! 😊👍

I've added stars to the sections of rule H1 that are pertinent: Pedestrians have something the HC calls "personal responsibility" which means they should be aware of their surroundings and NOT PUT THEMSELVES (OR OTHERS) IN DANGER..... Crossing on a red man shows no personal responsibility at all and we can argue that pedestrians can do what they want at a crossing but this isn't the case. Drivers also have a personal responsibility to keep pedestrians safe but a driver cannot be held responsible if a pedestrian walks out in front of their car. The driver can be aware, be driving safely, be legal, abiding by speed limits and road conditions, but if a pedestrian walks across a set of traffic lights when they shouldn't and get hit by a car it's not the drivers fault because the pedestrian was deliberately placing themselves in danger with no care for their own personal safety. See HC Rules for pedestrians (1 to 35). Rule H1 **It is important that ALL road users are aware of The Highway Code, are considerate to other road users and understand their responsibility for the safety of others.** Everyone suffers when road collisions occur, whether they are physically injured or not. But those in charge of vehicles that can cause the greatest harm in the event of a collision bear the greatest responsibility to take care and reduce the danger they pose to others. This principle applies most strongly to drivers of large goods and passenger vehicles, vans/minibuses, cars/taxis and motorcycles. Cyclists, horse riders and drivers of horse drawn vehicles likewise have a responsibility to reduce danger to pedestrians. **None of this detracts from the responsibility of ALL road users, including pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders, to have regard for their own and other road users’ safety.** Always remember that the people you encounter may have impaired sight, hearing or mobility and that this may not be obvious.

It's getting worse, We've got temporary Traffic Lights and I was following a learner and though they might panic and jam the brake on, so I slowed a bit just in case, they didn't but there was a van behind me who overtook both of us and just went slamming through.
@davidhartwell48262 ай бұрын
The traffic lights that the van driver went through on red are equipped with cameras so maybe vanman got a ticket .

When was the clip with the Black Jeep filmed? DEM 1J is not on the DVLA database.

People who drive inconsiderately sap the joy out of driving. Driving in traffic is a different experience to driving on empty roads. Some people are only capable of driving on empty roads but they don't know that and they feel that traffic is hindering their enjoyment of the road so it's only fair that everyone has a bad time. Or they just like to bully people consequence free. To apply a gaming term, to 'grief', especially learners.

4:24 You don't seem to understand the rules regarding pedestrian crossings: 1) The red man sign does not mean you cannot cross. It is merely a warning that the prohibition of vehicles crossing the stop line no longer applies. Pedestrians are permitted to cross on a red man. 2) A green traffic light does not mean 'go' or that you have priority. It merely means that the prohibition of crossing the stop line no longer applies and you can proceed if it is safe to do so. 3) When the traffic light turns green, then any pedestrian who is already crossing, even on the other side of an island, has priority and you are require to wait for them to complete their crossing before proceeding. See Rule 197 "Pelican crossings which go straight across the road are one crossing, even when there is a central island. You MUST wait for pedestrians who are crossing from the other side of the island." Also rule 198 "Give way to anyone still crossing after the signal for vehicles has changed to green. This advice applies to all crossings" 4) Rule 194 "Allow pedestrians plenty of time to cross and do not harass them by revving your engine or edging forward". You harassed the pedestrians by edging forward while they were crossing, a section 3ZA(2) offence.
