I cut the muffler off and left the resonator on straight pipe more less sounds great not that loud sounds perfect to me gets lots of compliments and maid the gas mileage go but wasn’t looking for that definitely a power difference I want to do the cold air intake my nephew has a new crew cab Z71 same motors 5.3 before I cut the muffler I couldn’t hang with him after I did that I was walking him I would definitely recommend it great video dude gonna get me 1

S_J Motorsports I don’t know I guess some trucks are different I know I raced my nephew’s truck he has a 17 crew cab 4 wheel drive with the 5.3 same set up I got but not 4 wheel drive and it’s a Tahoe before I had the muffler cut raced 3 times he got me all 3 then I cut the muffler and was walking him and in both races he gave me a jump he still won them when I did the muffler ran a couple times then I gave him the jump so we know it maid a difference

any idea if it will fit on a Tahoe hybrid 6.0L v8 is it the exact same size as the stock unit? Size dimensions would be nice

Yes as far as I know that would fit on your Tahoe even if it is a hybrid. They are around $300 new online but try to find a used one. Thanks for watching.

But a Volant cold air intake for my truck, do i need to change the exhaust first before installing the cai? Or can i install the cai and upgrade the exhaust later since am on budget. Thanks

King B I would just go ahead and install the cai right away. The exhaust upgrade can wait. Your truck will still get a nice engine sound. I love mine still. Thanks for watching and good luck.

King B Cool glad it worked out for you. No I don’t have a tuner but i have heard those hand held ones don’t really do anything. The best way is to get a professional to do a tune but that is expensive.

Did you paint your engine cover? The CAI increase MPG?

Yes I painted it myself. I estimate about 1 or 2 miles more mpg. But overall, the sound is the most difference I got out of it. I would assume if you get a tune that would help the most with overall gains.

Mopar Man Yep a good tuner guy will go through your entire engine computer to make it run pretty much any way you want it to, to match your upgrades.

M 310 Yes I would definitely buy it again. It really wakes up the engine and it sounds amazing. I love the sound every time I hit the throttle. If you have an exhaust, it makes that even sound better too. Look on Craigslist or something like that I actually saw another recently one for sale again from another person. I painted it with high temp paint. I bought the graphics from eBay and also the v8 emblem was bought on eBay too. Thanks for watching
