Because the radio stations dropped the ball on Volbeat. They were putting out great music since 2001 and I heard my first Volbeat song in 2013, instantly became a fan and bought every album on Amazon. 8 years later, they are still over 50 % of the music I listen to in my truck. As opposed to, of course, bands whose recordings sound like they were done in a garage with a children’s Casio recorder and a mic they forgot to turn on….you know the type: 8th grade pep assembly battle of the bands -like performance. For me, lyrics are key so I appreciate Volbeat’s sound quality. *an exception will always be songs put out by bands like Bloodbath, Cryptopsy and Cannibal Corpse-the best sound quality possible won’t change the fact that you’ll need a printout of the lyrics to decipher them.
