It's strange, my thoughts on Shotgun Blues were that musically I loved it, going back to their roots, with the exception of the psuedo-breakdown at the end which I didn't like at all. But lyrically and melodically it just didn't gel as it was trying to do more of their newer style. This track works better but, as @Chris Rohde says, the vocals are still very high and, in my opinion, out of whack with the music. This track almost reminds me of The Nameless One.

Favorite song of their new album so far, can’t wait to hear the rest of it, heard “last day on earth under the sound” on the radio while driving lyft and thought “huh pretty good song, doesn’t sound like a lot of things I’ve heard but it’s good” then I found out their entire catalog is like that ranging from its “Good to what a sick song ”. Playing volbeat is one of the top 3 Lyft complements I get while driving, next to my driving safety and Friendliness. Can’t count the number of times some one says, “sick playlist dude” “what band is that you were playing” or “what was the name of that song”. Volbeat has also been the reason for big tips on more then one occasion.

One thing I love about this specific band is the communication between the instruments and the vocals. The way both transit between territories is plain fantastic. It's like, when Michael's singing the instruments know it is time to follow, specially during the chorus. Yet, when they're by themselves, either on the intro/outro or on the breakdown, they can make your head fall off if you let 'em. It's like they have their own personality!
