My Metal friend introduced me to Volbeat and Ghost on the same day in 2013. That day was one of the best Metal days anyone could have. At first I thought Ghost was trying to be a more Satanic King Diamond, and I thought Volbeat was a Reverend Horton Heat copy. Then after listening to both bands extensively since then, they have both become some of my favorite bands of all time \,,/

Well, I have more appreciation for the chorus now. 🙂I always liked it, but didn't know about what was happening on the chordal level. Somewhat deceptively simple, I guess. Speaking of which, definitely no issue with the great score; Sad Man's Tongue is still my favorite example of a deceptive score. What I love about Michael's vocals in this one, apart from his general tone and the mini vibratos, is the little shades of Dio that I think he pulled off well (granted the studio helps). The solo is still one of my favorites from Rob.

It's SO GOOD. This is one of those songs that you can never play quite LOUD ENOUGH. From the verse to the guitar solo section, it's just a straight up banger. My least favorite part is probably the Chorus honestly! But it works. And the rest slaps so hard, it's fine with me lol.

Not sure which came first so I'll look that up but the opening instrumental sounds very similar to Circe by Ghost

The rhythm reminds me of Twisted Sister - The Beast.
