You have just destroyed a language... Holy shit... Here we go. For-ever, maybe forever, shall we maybe walk the same road. And when tomorrow opens it's eyes, and the night is resting, shall we forever walk the same road. (this is translated into grammatical english, and therefore not a direct translation - mostly to make more sense to non danish speakers). Directly translated: For-ever, maybe forever shall we maybe the same way, and when tomorrow gets' eyes and the night is resting now, shall we forever the same way. So Ronni was not too far off. He just ended up with a homicide and the english language was his victim.

I’m Danish, and in Danish they’re pretty much saying: “Forever, maybe forever, shall we go together, the same way. And when tomorrow gets it’s eyes, and the night rests, shall we forever, maybe, go the same way” Not really 100 correct, cause it’s hard to directly translate the poetic aspect but that’s pretty much translated what they sing

The poetic aspect is that they say "når i morgen får øjne" instead of the more common "når i morgen åbner øjnenene". The phrasing they use is normally only used to describe the first time a kitten or puppy opens its eyes. It directly translates to "when tomorrow gets eyes", which unfortunately doesn't sound quite as beautiful in English.

BEFORE YOU ASK A QUESTION READ THIS COMMENT For Evigt is the same as The Bliss except for the chorus. For Evigt's chorus is Danish and sung by Johan Olsen, who was also featured on The Garden's Tale. The Bliss's chorus is in English and sung by Michael Poulsen. They are completely different and not just translations of the other. For Evigt will be a bonus track on the deluxe version of Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie if you are in America. Depending on where you live, For Evigt will take The Bliss's place as a main track and The Bliss will be a bonus track.

Danish is very closely related to German and Dutch despite being a Nordic language (I know they are all Germanic, but the branches are different). The words are Nordic but the pronunciation is heavily influenced by German and Dutch. Personally as a Dane I feel especially at home in the Netherlands due to this. When I walk down the streets of a city like Amsterdam the speech in the background feels like Danish until I listen to the actual words spoken and my brain goes "wait it's not." The reverse of the feeling I get in Stockholm where I don't recognize the intonation, but I recognize the words once I stop and listen to them. Not all Danes like to admit it, but I always felt Danish was very German in nature, and it's why the Norwegians and Swedes like to make fun of our language, they share a very different way of speaking to the one Danes adopted and share in part with Germans.

Diego Gaitan as a mean Swedish neighbor I'll tell you what danish really sounds like. It sounds like a really drunk guy who has a super hot potato in his mouth and is trying to speak. And also, even hot girls sound like men when they speak danish.

I think I'm going to get "For Evigt" as my first tattoo. I don't know where, but just simple and small in pretty font. This is probably my favourite Volbeat song. And that's saying a lot because they're my number 1 favourite band!
