Here's demo of how you can create a chord sequence with the Korg Volca Bass using just 1 pattern. You could make this twice as long by using a lower tempo (eg 17bpm for a 136 bpm track). Now you have both hands free to play another instrument!

Volca Bass is one of the most underrated bass synth ever. I have the Beats, Bass and Keys, and while the Bass was at first the one I would come to last, it is now always the first synth I grab when starting a new jam or composition. Endless capability. Thanks Tony for showing how you did this, will add a complete new dimension to the Bass's capability. Incidentally, I make a lot of use of the LFO in sync with BPM and in square wave to make all sorts of gated effects. Love it.

Maarten de Vries I agree! The LFO sync trick is really useful when you’re running the Bass at a lower tempo (maybe 1/4 or 1/8 of the main tempo) so you can play long chords with gated effects as you say with a square LFO or other effects with a different LFO shape.

Tony Horgan I recently bought the volca beats and FM,and I was wondering, how can I link the two together so I can hear their combined sounds with my headphones(?) Is this even possible, or do I need to go direct to a speaker/monitor for audio output(?) TIA.

Bansenshukai9 I guess short term you could use a headphone splitter for 2 units but ideally, and for expansion purposes you would need a mixer

How'd you calculate that 17bpm would sync with a 136bpm track?
@TonyHorgan
@TonyHorgan 3 жыл бұрын
You need to find a factor of the main tempo. This is easier for certain tempos. Here, I am using 17bpm because 136 (bpm) divided by 8 = 17. The Volca Bass will sync with a 136bpm track at 1/8th of the speed of the 136bpm tempo. You would need to “sync” it manually, but that is easy with some practice - just press Play at the right time, and tweak it with the tempo knob if necessary ( turn the tempo up or down for a moment and back to 17).

¡Hola! Mantenga Func y Power On.
