Arturia MicroFreak: Vangelis/CS-80 Patch

Hello friends,
As you probably know, Vangelis is one of my greatest role models. In fact, it was his music for Blade Runner and 1492 - Conquest of Paradise that connected me to the synthesizer music and that I still can't let go of today.
That's why I created a patch that is a little reminiscent of the CS-80 and Vangelis' success.
Unfortunately the camera stopped at 5:30 am because the memory was probably full.
Who is interested in this patch just write in the comments. I will then release the patch for download.
The MicroFreak is taking me a lot right now, but I promise to get the Volcas involved again.

Most of the Time I am using the Specular Reverb v3 for my jams.
Sometimes the NTS-1 with the Cathedral Preset or just the iPad.

Never really got into Blade Runner when I first watched it, perhaps it might have been my age and perspective at the time (some time in the 80s or 90s). Recently watched Blade Runner 2049, absolutely love it. I might have to re-watch the original Blade Runner again - it's due on Netflix .au soon.

@VolcaNiced which cheaper alternative to the Specular Reverb v3 would you recommend for a similar reverb as in this masterpiece please? Just beginning and still exploring so not sure I’m ready to get a Specular yet.

I use the NTS1 very often, there are really nice and deep reverbs on it and you can load new patches if you want... but there is no other reverb in this a lower price range with the quality of the SPR v3. Sorry. Its worth every Euro.

As someone who has never touched electronical/musical equipment before but also someone who would love to get into making atmosphec music a but like Vangelis, is the MicroFreak good for beginners, or would I be completely out of my depth at trying to understand and create something like in your video?

How do you get individual patches like this into the microfreak? This download is a mfpz file, inside the midicontrol center they are mbp files.

Open Midi Control Centre. Either create new program or find one with empty slots. Click on any patch or empty patch number and mark it. Then, go to upper panel and click "import". You will be prompted if you want to update a patch from different banks or insert new program - chose this, and you will be presented with open window - navigate to your patch, click, it will be in the project you are working on. Now, you either upload the whole project or just move new patch to the synth.

@@earlsfield when I open "New project" and then "Import" it appears a window where I you can only import a file (*.mfprojz) and not (*.mfpz) like Battys Tears

​@@paoloventurini9062 there is a difference between project and a patch. mfprojz is project extension. You should be able to drag patch in there,dry drag n drop if you are on mac.

Kraftwerk war es bei mir nicht aber ich habe die Syntesizer Graeatest Kassetten verschlungen als ich 7 oder 8 war ... dann kam ABBA (durch meinen Vater) dann später viel später erst Vangelis .....

i did not get time to try this patch out - how did you get the control of cutoff that changes speed, is it lfo assigned to cycling envelope, to the Fall parameter?

Exactly that is it ...and there are also variations with the other parameters....for example set the LFO to the last type and watch what happens.

it's V.Analog, based on the Preset "Fusion Lead". The final Patch is named "Batty's Tears" and uses the Wavetable 9 Osc.
