Yep. It is the source of the Strombolian eruption style, since the volcano has been erupting for nearly 2000 years... non-stop.

at thar point it's getting quire dangerous for any onlockers as that plume is quite toxic it's best to keep your distance whan there's a larger eruption like this one

The pyroclastic flow that happened after the lateral vent opened reached nearly 200 meters away from the coast, flowing over the water. Pyroclastic flows are the reason for Pompeii and Herculaneum's demise.

I was on a cruise in 1964 (I think) The ship went all the way around Stromboli to give us a great view of an eruption. An awesome sight.
