It started with the wizards and muggles at war centuries ago, they were killing magical folk and shunning them for what they happen to be, so when Salazar found out the other founders wanted muggle borns in the school, he didn't want to forgive them for the murders of his kind. From there it was a transference of hate, a disdain passed down because Salazar was against them learning their secrets. Voldemort was the epitome of that, his muggle father abandoned him, he grew in an orphanage where he was special but nobody saw that, his natural hate and his learned hate melted together basically.

He're the thing: I don't think he actually hates people at all. Or rather, he hates everyone, but not for the reason he says. My opinion is, the thing he really hates is that even finding out he was a wizard didn't make him the God he wanted to be when he was a child, so he tells himself that his father being a muggle is the thing that doesn't make him as powerful as he wants to be. He surely understands that if blood purity was all that mattered, he'd be dealing with a lot more powerful wizards and may even find that he wasn't the strongest amongst his own peers. I think him making the narrative all about blood purity was another way of exerting his control, as he seemed to have nearly as much contempt for the wizards he kept close at hand, usually reveling in the cowardess they showed before him.

It was never a good thing to use a love potion, but it was not her fault that she was a victim of a lifetime of abuse and honestly, didn't know any better. I'm more surprised she could _brew_ a love potion; it sounds like Daddy gave up on her as a squib long before she could have been able to brew one or understand what it meant. Dad didn't realize the abuse was part of the problem, and Merope was not strong enough to break a cycle when that life was all she knew. I am not trying to excuse her actions because they were inherently wrong. But like Tom himself, the life she had led had its results. If she had lived, and had loved him, she would have broken the cycle. Even the effects of having been conceived under a love potion would have been nullified if Tom had known parental love as a child.

I didn't argue the point. That is her fault. What wasn't her fault was being the victim before her father and brother went to Azkaban. And I was more surprised she could _read._ How did she brew a love potion? Again, the life she led had its results. She had to resort to a date rape drug (and commit what the muggle world (and us) sees as a huge crime) to feel "loved". She chose death rather than remaining to love her child after she was abandoned. Apparently nobody at the orphanage was capable of showing warmth to its orphans either.

I still feel to this day that it would have made a more compelling story of Voldemort's conception would be if his father stole a love potion and used it on Tom Riddle's mother. I understand that the reason Voldemort in general hates because when Voldemort was conceived from a love potion he did not have any love inside of his identity. But I think the hatred towards muggles would have stemmed far deeper if his father being a muggle tampered with wizard and witchcraft potions. Because then he would feel like muggles are us stain in the wizard community after his father had done him wrong besides abandoning him After his mother decided to stop giving her husband more dosages of the love potion.

what if she brew some in secret to try and make money by selling them. in an effort to make her father finally show appreciation for her existence or something. he steals one and tests in on her and she ends up pregnant but he didn't actually want to stay with her, he was just seeing if it worked so he could force someone of a higher class to be with him. then she still ends up leaving to go find the orphanage. when tom finally finds his father, he finds him and a wife and child all living the life he never got a chance to have.

I really love your videos but I think they, the Death Eaters did know at least a few of them. Wormtail knew the Tom Riddle Sr. was Voldermount's father because he did the reincarnation ritual in the graveyard. The same deatheaters who were summonded to the graveyard grew up with the young Tom Riddle Jr. and knew he had to go back to the muggle world if not an orphanage every holiday. I think they didnt question his blood status one, because he was a homocidal psychopath and two, because he underwent such physical changes to his body they would willingly believe he had purged the muggle side.

But I think of another reason, for him to hate Muggles and Muggle-Borns: From his magical side, he comes from the Gaunt family, one of the families with fanatical belief, Pure-Blood supremacy bullshit. Maybe, when he learned about his heritage, he decided to adopt this awful attitude. Makes sense to me, because he saw himself above others, like they did. About the Death Eaters, knew or didn't knew, at the beginning, it was probably his closest "Friends" that knew he was a Half-Blood. But, in film 4 when he returns, he says that Harry stands on the bones of his father. And I believe he said something similar in the book, I just can't remember, but anyway he didn't hide it. I wonder if any inspiration for Voldemort came from Hitler. A man that set out on a mass genocide of people that he shared charactists with. Humans are a weird specie in the Harry Potter world. Muggle and Wizards where once the in the same tribe. Which why sometime muggle can be born with magic. Humans are the only specie with magic to have the this spilt. Every other species of magic doesn't have this spilt between magic and not magic. That we know of. Some kind magic taboo or curse within the DNA causing the spilt between the tribes. Magic is life and creation. Magic is all around it just hard to see.

I honestly don't think the Death Eaters would have cared about Voldemort's blood status all that much. Half-bloods seem to be treated with much more leniency even amongst the most extreme of supremacists in Wizarding society - the logic probably being that "at least SOME part of you is useful". I think the best example would be Lucius and Severus's friendship during their Hogwarts days. If having only _partially_ non-magical blood was that big of a deal... something tells me an Über-Bigot like papa Malfoy would not have even given our boy Lovesick McGrease the time of day lmao
