You can be Russian without having been born there, i was born in spain, yet i was in love with Russia, i adopted their culture, language, etc. And they accept me like any other Russian. Giving your life should be your last option to fight for Russia, dont be so willing to give your life when theres other options.

Most of these melodies are much older than USSR, folk songs nothing to do with 'propaganda'.... most Westerners are thoroughly indoctrinated by their media to see 'propaganda' in everything Russian. They never see propaganda in the very same western media tho... and no, I'm not Russian.
