"Smuglianka" - Soviet Folk Song (Rare Version)

I love this song so much
I'm amazed this version hasn't been uploaded to KZbin yet, it's by far my favourite
"Смуглянка-Молдаванка"/"Smuglianka-Moldavanka" (Swarthy Moldavian [Moldovan] Girl) is a Soviet patriotic folk/military song composed by Anatoly Novikov and written by Yakov Shvedov in 1940. It was originally created for the Kyiv Special Military District ensemble but remained unpublished before the war. Four years later, the song resurfaced when Alexander Alexandrov, the artistic director of the famous Red Army Choir, requested new songs for a program. Novikov presented this song, which was well-received and first performed in 1944 at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. While the song portrayed events from the Russian Civil War, it came to be associated with the liberation of Moldova during the Great Patriotic War. Over the years, "Smuglianka" has been performed by notable artists and featured in films such as "Only Old Men Are Going to Battle" (1973) and "Soldiers of Freedom" (1977). In 1975, the song won the "Song-75" festival, with performances by Miki Evremovich and Sofia Rotaru. It is performed here by the Alexander Pustovalov Army Choir in 1992 at a concert in France.

It perhaps sounds like "вдруг", not "но" in the final verse. The meaning would only change from "but my swarthy Moldavian girl" to "suddenly my swarthy Moldavian girl"

Honestly it’s kinda crazy that a song so full of lies is such a banger. There were no “Moldovan partisans”fighting against Romania or something like that. The only partisans were hard line communist traitors(Stalinists) and Russians. The Romanian people in the Bessarabian region were named Moldovans and they tried brainwashing the whole region into believing this ridiculous lie. Those that wouldn’t comply were either imprisoned, killed or sent to Siberia, which were then replaced by Ukrainians and Russians. The Soviets did everything they could to divide the Romanian people. It’s honestly baffling to me that the Russian Government shamelessly keeps whining that they don’t have any allies after what they had done. And they never apologised once for anything. Eastern Europe will never forget Soviet rule
