It feels weird to say this, but looking at Costas performances before and after the izzy fight, it really does seem like he was off in that fight. Don't get me wrong, I think izzy on his worst day probably still beats costa even on his best day, but he did seem quite a bit less durable and conditioned in that fight.

The most successful formula for beating Izzy is to choke off his supply. Give him nothing to counter. Point hit him when there's a safe chance. Then take him down as often as possible even if it goes nowhere. Rob came within a bee's whisker last time. Unfortunately it also leads to a pretty boring fight to watch.

Yep that's what tends to happen when both fighters are so great and they equally acknowledge how dangerous the other can be. Izzy vs Whitaker 2 was a technical masterpiece but i'd be lying if i said I was entertained. It was boring and mentlly taxing as hell. I could only imagine how mentally drained Rob and Izzy were after that fight.
