The sound of the punkontakt system is very distinctive and relaxing much nicer to hear for a long while than the EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! of a sound equipped ICE or vectron.

It depends on what you are used to hear, but digital sound would be quite disturbing and overlapping with several locos running simultaneously. Actually most of the noise here does not originate from the "punktkontakts", but from the connections of the old metal tracks.
